I categorically refuse to look at that variant list and live forever happily knowing I bought the only version.

Novice question: I ordered a new record. It arrived already opened, in a plastic slip case, and both records were removed from the case and tucked in the plastic slip case. I heard of shipping records like this before, but why?

    1) protects the sleeve from ringwear
    2) protects the sleeve from damage caused by the records shifting during shipping
    3) protects the records from the same above reason (the fibers from the sleeve can get embedded into the grooves)
    4) shrink wrap is evil and should never EVER be put on records, be glad they shipped it this way

Am I the only one who can't decide? I have been listening to the original Halloween soundtrack all day (because I am a freak like that) and damn that score is amazing.

Is right. I never understand why people think it's somehow noteworthy to keep records in shrinkwrap. Take it off, every time.

I've bought a decent amount and am now on a small hiatus. I'll share the most recent purchase though (even though there's more) since the variant is awesome.

Jaye Jayle - No Trail and Other Unholy Paths (Aquamarine with Black Vinyl, LE to 300 copies)

Another novice question: Should I be removing the wrap from all of my records?

I don't have a record player yet. But I'm buying records so I have them ready for when I finally buy a player. Currently all of my records are wrapped, with the exception of the one I mentioned in my previous post. (BTW, that record is Perturbator's Uncanny Valley.)

I’d say so yes. It’s worth getting a pile of the thick plastic outer sleeves and using those.

Still waiting on my copy. I had to order from foreign retailer in Europe since Deathwish sold out. Magus is out next week!

I just started ordering physical copies of Baroness albums. Managed to buy the baby pink variant version of the Red Album and the gold variant repress of the Blue Record. Need to find variants I want for Yellow & Green and Purple.
