Jeeeesus this looks fine and sweet content-wise ...except all the separate envelopes and prints scattered around - which looks like a real hassle to scoop through the box to find specific disc. The covers are all made of same pattern with slightly different shades, making them easy to be mistaken over one another.
As a proud owner of Superunknown LE that is one big book, didn't expect this new deluxe to be as messed up as it turns out. Guess i better stick with just 2xCD offering of this one.

The teaser Rusty Cage demo is alright, tho

At nearly $200.00, this is really expensive, that's $27.00 per disc, including CDs and DVDs/blu-ray. Still, it does look awesome. I was happy with the Superunknown boxset--beautiful packaging, loved the demos, artwork, etc. The only drawback was the remastered album sucked--loud as fuck.

TOTD reissue is great. Got the boxset, beautiful packaging, photos, cool dvd, liked the bonus songs. For a hundred bucks it is expensive, but it is well done. If you're on a budget, stick with the standard 2 CD, which has the bonus songs. Nothing on the boxset is really essential, but it does look really nice.

Yup, it does have the spinning wheel, works with two AA batteries. Expensive, but super badass.

Only the first 1000 have the spinning wheel I thought, but given they've wheeled out Ben to do an unboxing tells me they're struggling to sell them so I'm likely to get it.

As much as I usually dislike when musicians do remixed revisions of their albums, I'm actually looking forward to this one. For years, UOK was the outlier in their discography for me; I guess I just never devoted enough time to it the way I did all their other albums. When I finally did, it really grew on me and now I play it just as much as their other stuff.

They've talked about remixing this for years, so I'm interested to see if it will be an improvement on the sound of the original..

I'm no audiophile, but I thought so. The original sounds muffled, and the remaster sounds clearer, crisper. I was happily surprised as I thought the Superunknown remaster was awful. Honestly, I'm not sure if CDs released after 1994 even need to be remastered.

I also bought the new Soundgarden remaster. What are your thoughts on the re-release vs. the original?

The Endino remaster definitely sounds different (and thus interesting) from a mix standpoint. After having only the original album mix to go by for more than 20 years, I can tell from just a cursory listen that Endino's mix sounds much fuller and more in line with the Soundgarden sound; it's easy to compare the two and see why the original SST mix was frowned upon by the band.

I'm curious as to why they didn't include the original Endino rough mix of Flower with the other Endino early version bonus tracks, but he remixed and remastered the album proper, so I guess that's splitting hairs. I DO find it hilarious that they "remixed and remastered" One Minute of Silence, though..

So very sad and unexpected. I can't even process this right now. I was literally just spinning Badmotorfinger and Ultramega OK this past weekend, thinking how amazing they still sounded when I saw them on that tour with Nails a few years back.
