I just applied for provisioning specialist for a security/managed services company. In my confirmation email they sent me my password I used to sign up for an account.

    IN PLAIN TEXT.

Safeway is running a Monopoly game and the pieces have codes you can enter online. One of the prizes is a Fandango voucher and my son figured out that if you change the last digit of the code, it will always be a winner. So he entered a bunch showing us and we all thought it was funny. Well cue to Saturday when we wanted to print some of these vouchers out to go see Guardians and when my wife logged into her account it said that it was suspended for hacking. Hacking, that's hilarious.

When I'm editing recently encoded (digitized) vinyl and I see the waveform taking up a lot of the spectrum space.

Remembering that no matter what, big or small, fun and laughter are what actually sometimes gives things meaning as well as a reason to continue living, whether I get it or not. Realizing this, and reminding me this, also helps me gain enough perspective to know when to continue doing/pursuing something or when to just let it go/give up and walk away/move on.

my friend jon & i made our live debut as Lyra last night, and it was my first time playing a show since our old band broke up last august. so over 9 months without playing music on stage (during which time i released a lot of recorded music, but there's nothing like playing live).

despite some sound issues (our backing tracks fizzled in and out a few times...gotta get my own DI box) things went pretty well, and it felt so good to be back in the realm of live music. people responded very positively and we made a tiny bit of cash. all in all, a good night.

i finally feel like i have some really good friends, and we can all hang out in a group together. i'm 30. most people say that you make your life-long friends in college, but i didn't go to college. i didn't go to college. other than the twins i've known since we were all 6 months old (one of whom lives in arizona and i rarely see her when she comes into town, and the other lives here but works for riot fest so he's ALWAYS busy), i have ONE friend who i've known since we were 11 who is basically my sister, but she doesn't live here. so it's really nice to have cultivated such a great, small group of people who i feel truly comfortable around, and who completely accept me for who i am.

my wife went out of town this morning and i don't usually do well when i'm home alone, so i spent 7 hours with my friends alex & tiff tonight. we did a ton of stuff: we got slurpees (free slurpee day!), played video games, ate dinner that tiff made, watched stuff, played more video games, went to an art show, played a board game, hung out and talked while we listened to music, walked their dogs, and everyone was happy the whole time. it's so nice to have people like that in my life, who i don't have to worry about being too eager or excited about hanging out with. i had a great night.

Bought a ps4 pro to trade for a ps4 and a new (to me) computer the other week. Finally get to play gta5 and some of the batman arkham games finally. Also, i paid my reinstatement fee for my license today when i called to check on my eval paperwork which had also cleared the system. Tomorrow i check on my sr-22 insurance and assuming i can get that taken care of i may be able to go for a drivers license next week on one of my days off. Then ill just a be a water pump away from driving again after my 5 years hiatus. Even had a pay check i must have missed at work today from February, so i got double paid. About to cook up some foods for the roomies for supper then zone for the remainder of the evening.

Any easy way out to success or rest.

And well, finding spare change when going out to get drinks, meals and/or snacks. That also still never gets old.

I still sometimes can't believe how entertaining and hilarious Internet forums can be, even without actually posting. I know I've said this about this place so many times too, but lurking can sometimes bring in a couple of unexpected laughs here and there, so in a way that can still certainly count for this thread.

This stuff is way better than it has any right to be. The only problem I've seen with it is that it has to be cold to taste good, otherwise it's just OK.

i mean...doesn't all soda have to be cold to taste good? i'm not really a fan of room-temperature drinks. i even refrigerate wine (yeah, ALL wine).

I don't mean room-temperature, I mean even just cool it loses something. It has to be chilled for it to bite just right.

My eldest child turns 13 today.

That's not really a little thing, but it's strange to think about. I'm 35 years old, and I have a 13 year old daughter. And she's smart, and a karate expert. So proud of her.

I finally, FINALLY got a hold of a live person to find out what the hold up on my short term disability payments was. I then made other calls, and everything seems to be in place, now. Everyone I talked to was polite and professional, too. One of the easiest times I've ever had on the phone in my life.

My main herb dealer is moving away tomorrow and offered to make a drop by my place before she leaves in the morning, and only wants $200 for an ounce. More than enough to get me through what's about to be the most stressful and tiring month of the year at work. Hooray 70-hour weeks and huuuge paychecks! Girl, you're an absolute lifesaver.

Edit: aaand after making sure I was gonna be up at 6 am so she could meet me before she leaves town, she texts me an hour and a half late and goes "hey I'm not gonna make it, sorry. :/" Literally any more notice would've been nice. :/ Here's to reaching out to all my weed friends and settle for a worse deal. 'Preciate it.

My Husband has been a Government employee with the FAA for 35 years as of 2 days ago, and he got a Certificate and a pin from Michael Huerta, the Administrator of the FAA, today. I'm SO proud of my Husband.

Whenever I'm in a crappy mood, a nice piece of gold or silver jewelry cheers me right up. I have a huge jewelry box. It's so big...it's almost like a piece of furniture. We all have things that we collect. For me, it's fine jewelry. I'm going window shopping at Pandora later on today.

Being welcomed back to work like people really appreciated seeing me. That helped make things so much easier. Also, I was able to complete my full shift today. My first day back was yesterday, but I didn't make it. I'm feeling it, but it's still better than before my surgery. I'm almost fully back to being myself.
