YouTube, even though I sometimes have to be in a certain mindset and mood to get into it, take it for granted or if I sometimes just aimlessly lurk on it out of sheer boredom.

So, Patton fucking killed it tonight. One of the funniest hours of stand up I have ever seen. He was on fire. And it's still surreal to me that I actually, finally got to see him live. I have been waiting for years. And it was extra special for me because he's basically the reason I want to get into stand up, so to be able to finally see him just doesn't seem real.

Anyway, it was a blast. And weird at times. Like the dude who walked up to the stage and put his hand out for Patton to shake in the middle of the show. Out of nowhere. And I think he said something like "Jesus loves you" and it was so fucking weird. And Patton just rolled with it and was like, "OK, you guys see him too, right?" I fucking lost it. And then, just like that, weird handshake guy was gone (I saw that they were escorting him out). But yeah. He did a decent amount of crowd work and dealing with weird things that happened like that and made up jokes on the spot about them that were some of the funniest of the night. It was really awesome to watch.

I bet that was a blast. I made a Pandora station based off him and its usually pretty solid.

Tonight is our work party. It's being held at another place they own, a resort/bar. Free food, drinks, and a room to crash in. I expect nothing less than a total shit show. Time to show these kids how a true industry vet gets down. That or I'll hole away with a bottle and watch Nickelodeon in my room.

The batshit, shoelace eating, bug fuck insanity filled conversations that I have with my two best friends that no sane person would ever be able to understand, even if they were somehow given backstory and context.

After months of reading about boot blacking, I finally, FINALLY had my first hands on lesson tonight. OH MY GOD. This is the best thing ever. I feel like I did a great job for my first time. I feel like it is something I will be good at. I love the feel and the way my hands smell right now. It's the perfect thing to occupy my mind.

Maybe I should have posted this in the kink thread. I have a boner.

Everything is an option for sexual gratification. Especially when you're currently not receiving any sexual gratification.

    Fact. Hmm...
    Anyway.

A few of us pitched in for a knife for our chef/boss. He's a good kid (I'm old) and does a solid job. Dude even got his name and restaurant name engraved on it. Was nice to do something for a guy who deserves it. (Work is aggravating. It's work, but I like my job.) Things like this are a bonus.

I noticed a newspaper headline this morning about someone who'd spent 21 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit, and all I could think about all day was shame that anyone could be wrongfully convicted to begin with, never mind wait two decades to be exonerated only because somebody cared enough to fight for him. I was gonna post that in the little things that piss you off thread.

But now I find out that the guy was just awarded $6 million by a judge, and the state (my state) didn't fight it at all. Doesn't erase the horror — being falsely imprisoned is very much a fate worse than death as far as I'm concerned — but it's a light in the darkness.

And once again I'm glad I live in a state that has its head screwed on straight.

This card. The front of it says "You're Fabulous..."

I had an awful week on basically all fronts... Work, friends, stress, etc. So something simple like this just brightened my spirits.

I have fantastic friends, and sometimes, it's easy to forget that. It's easy for me to get caught up in a bad day and have it turn into a bad month - especially when I'm not on my medication at the moment.

I love my friends, and I forget how blessed I am to have so many thoughtful and caring people in my life.

My buddy has a knack for sending me random texts that do the same for me. It is pretty great.

Doing laundry, finally. And having the day off to get it done. The nap I took more so than any thing today.

Went to San Francisco last weekend and had a perfectly lovely time. My friend's wife was a bit odd, but frankly the guys had more issue with her then I did. Really, someone announcing that we shouldn't be jaywalking isn't going to bother me.

I am happy because I received my computer back from Best Buy’s repair facility and they replaced my battery and whole keyboard assembly. I had been without my laptop for a week now. They did what I thought was impossible: Replaced the battery on a MBP with Retina Display (bastards, if the battery really couldn’t be replaced, I would’ve been entitled to the latest version of my machine).

GM'ing a tabletop RPG again. Its been 2+years since i GM'ed anything serious, and even though I'm not writing the adventure (Pathfinder pre-made modules FTW) I am taking great joy in all of the preparatory work that goes into running a campaign. Playing the game is fun, don't get me wrong, but there is something extra satisfying about GM'ing. Hmmm. Yeeeeess.

Definitely been a fan of the pro wrestling thread here. Oh, and life in general has been pretty kick ass, although challenging, of late.

Jesus fucking Christ. I'm in awe of what I'm hearing.

Hurry up and hit the big time so I can throw money at you, OK?

Bad enough eversonpoe and his wife are so unreasonably cute. Does he have to be unreasonably talented, too? FML.
