The new Old 97s album cracked the top 10 on the billboard rock chart.
And i just now realized this, but their last album got up to 30 on the 200.
So this is crazy, but they are more popular now, 25 years in, than they ever have been.

I get to participate in a study on Tourette's syndrome. I've been wanting to do anything I could to help my entire life.

Love the concept, and that cover art is definitely very well done. Congrats, man.

This isn't exactly a small thing, but the nodule on my father's lung is benign. So not cancer.

(I had to fucking tell someone, I feel like yodeling or something)

We just passed a state budget that includes a biking / walking path that will pretty much span the whole damn state (was rumored to be one of the first things to be cut from the budget).

Oh, and just some other little thing...free tuition to state colleges for kids of parents earning under $100k a year.

Yeah, taxes are kind of shit in NY, but I like where they're going.

has made it to the final 6 candidates of the Québec version of The Voice, called La Voix (duh).

You'll have to click the link to listen to how AWESOME he is (and I don't want to spoil the surprise). I have never been so happy about a show like that. I hope he'll win!

And so many people are pissed that it's even more awesome. I'm going to vote for him.

my roommate in providence had it. mainly torso twitches (for lack of a better term -- he hurt his neck and back because of them) and slamming whatever he had in his hands on tables or counters.

hope you get what you need.

Oh, mine isn't as bad as it used to be. I'm just wanting to help any way I can because kids are fucking little pricks and middle school/high school fucking sucked and I'd like there to be a real treatment that actually works for people who have it super bad.

actually, it'd just be great if people weren't sexual predators, but i guess that's aiming too high above the cesspool of humanity :/

I'm cheered up by the fact that I didn't just wind up in the hospital (or worse)...

I was driving down the highway, when some giant chunk of metal seemed to fall out of the car in front of me. It happened so fast there was nothing I could possibly do to avoid it, and it bounced under my car and slammed up into the undercarriage so hard that my feet went numb. If I had been driving a few feet back it could have ricocheted through my windshield and ripped my head off.

Instead, I watched my life flash before my eyes, and just said "woah" while thinking of the myriad of ways that could have gone south.

The wife and I have finally found a tenacious advocate that is willing to fight for my daughter and her education.

I'll be damned if she gets shoved to the side and placed in an all-disability school.

(I realize I've never talked about my daughter's disability before and doing so now may cause questions; not sensitive in the area).

Reading ISKCON (Hare Krisna) books warms my heart to no end. You don't have to believe every little bit of a religion to be comforted and inspired by the texts and these books have helped me through a lot of hard times

I really keep underestimating sleep while taking it for granted. But yeah. A lack of sleep really makes my emotions go haywire, and I still sometimes forget that. Sleep, like crying just seems to purge me.

Seeing people in a good mood also helps me. Not just because I might also feel good myself, as well as knowing that I could've made their day brighter or more bearable or for the sake of general kindness and courtesy, but to also see that they didn't mean any harm either. It's also relieving.

despite the fact that my new album has been out for less than a month, as of today i've already written and recorded 37 minutes of new music that will comprise my next album.
