From the Ipecac Facebook: "HA! Made you look! Available on Record Store Day, all 3 albums on vinyl for first time, with space to insert the soon to be released 4th Tomahawk record coming soon!"

Fourth Tomahawk album? Wasn't expecting this and I seriously can't wait!

Sweeet! I had a dream a few nights ago that Mr. Bungle reunited and played a show here in a thrift shop. Crazy.

mike wasn't in the band for the debut album. the first album he was on was "the real thing", but i would recommend "angel dust" as your first FNM album. "mit gas" by tomahawk is fantastic, as well. if you want something a little funkier, check out "california" by mr. bungle. for something more accessible, go with peeping tom.

The most accessible (and song orientated) ones for me are:

Faith No More - angel dust or album of the year
    Fantomas - the director's cut
    Mr Bungle - California
    Peeping Tom - s/t
Tomahawk - s/t or Mit Gas
    Mondo Cane - s/t
Dillinger Escape Plan - irony is a dead scene (Patton is the singer for the whole EP before Greg came in)

If you like what you hear you can dive deeper into his more radical stuff like his two solo records, earlier Mr Bungle and Fantomas stuff and his various collaboration-records.
And if all that doesn't suit your taste than stick with the Faith No More discography. You can't go wrong with that. Personally I like a lot of his stuff, but some of it (Merzbow e.g.) is too much for me.

It's funny. alot of people don't know about that Mike Patton guy I keep talking about from time to time, but as soon as I play FNMs easy for them the all go like "Oh, this is him?" and the next thing I see is destroyed faces and melted eardrums when I let some Fantomas etc. loose.

His two soundtrack works (there's only two afaik) are also quite good: Crank 2 OST and A Perfect Place but very different from each another. I yet have to see his acting debut in a indiependent film called Firecracker.

Last year he did the soundtrack for a film called The Solitude of Prime Numbers.

I picked up Firecracker on DVD a few years back. Finally got around to watching it last summer. In retrospect, I could see why I was in no rush to watch it. Patton plays 2 roles. One of them he does okay with, the other you can see he's a musician trying his hand at acting.

I find this to be one of his most underrated releases. It was all I listened to when it came out.

    My favourite Patton releases:

FNM: King For A Day, Fool for a Lifetime is my fave. Angel Dust, The Real Thing, and Album of the Year are also all must-haves.
Mr Bungle: all three, especially Disco Volante.
Tomahawk: the first album is great, the second was rushed, but has a couple of good songs.
    Peeping Tom: very much underrated.
Mondo Cane: not his greatest, but still very enjoyable.
Don't care for: most of Fantomas (The Director's Cut is the best), the soundtracks, and albums just made up of noise and screaming.

    Love all FNM
Love all Tomahawk (no one here likes their 3rd album??)
    Love all Mr. Bungle
    Love Fantomas' Suspended Animation.
    Didn't really dig Peeping Tom.
    Haven't heard Mondo Cane?

    FNM - Angel Dust
Mr. Bungle - California (Sweet Charity is one of my favorite songs, ever)
    Fantomas - Director's Cut
Tomahawk - s/t (don't care much for the third one either)
    Thoroughly enjoyed Peeping Tom.

I enjoy the third Tomahawk record alot, but I like them better as a straight forward rock-band, rather than an experimental piece. I hope the fourth one is more like their debut record.

How is there no love for Lovage in here?! Probably my favorite thing he's done outside of Faith No More.

They wrote somewhere around 25 songs for Sol Invictus. We got 10 of them and six years later, we still only have 10 of them. Bleh..

I don't think the band was in the same room for much of Sol Invictus; I'm almost positive Mike recorded the vocals somewhere else once the music was put together. It's nice to have new music from FNM because nobody thought we ever would again, but it's also their least accomplished album and it's fucking short..

It has enough to keep coming back to it though. Matador, Superhero and Separation Anxiety are absolute bangers..
