My main obsession for the last handful of months finally has not only the best trailer to showcase what makes the game so special, but probably the best game trailer I've ever seen.
I re-evaluated what I need and want Black Friday (just Arrow Season 2) and just said fuck it and bought Far Cry 4 digitally on Xbox One right now. Downloading now.
I get paid Thursday anyways.
Finally beat Borderlands 1, blah shit is boring.
Moving on to Rage now.
Dragon Age: Inquisition is devouring my life. Seriously getting the same feelings from it that I got playing KOTOR and ME1 for the first time. Oh, and I'm also going back through GTAV on the PS4.
Rage was the kind of game that I desperately wanted to enjoy but just couldn't, it was like it intentionally stacked the deck against itself. At the very least Borderlands had a fresh art style at the time (compared to other post-apocalyptic games) and humor that, while not always on point, gave it a unique identity. Rage was just, I don't know. I hardly remember a single character or plot point from it anymore.
Dust - An Elysian Tale.
played about 15-20 minutes of The Crew beta. Nope, thats not a game that is 1) aimed at me and 2) I have any time for. I'm sure people who liked Burnout Paradise (which includes me) but also the trademark Ubisoft "get to the point, which opens up all the side quests" style that is in every one of their AAA games (Which I don't like)
Giving Saint's Row 4 a run.
Not that easy, honestly. I appreciate the difficulty and retro throwback but checkpoints and lack off are retarded. Really makes this game frustratingly hard/annoying rather than hard for being difficult.
DriveClub has some updates, it seems to be working a little better too.
I've been stuck playing Fifa 15 for a while now. I've never been into those types of games (I tend to stick with Racing and anything GTA) and I'm not the greatest at it but damn it's fun. Also picked up Advanced Warfare only because I wanted something to switch to when I got bored of Fifa but it hasn't had much play time as it stands now.
Oh yeah totally digging Saint's Row 4 right now.
Never Alone is a simple, gorgeous platformer, very fun and I love the documentary elements. Highly recommend. Also downloaded Pier Solar out of curiosity. 16bit RPG on the ps4? yes plz (until something happens with Ps1 emulation and I get to start FFVI for the millionth time)
The first person view has made GTA 5 a lot more fun for me for some reason.
I've felt the exact same way; it's just far more immersive and I've really been able to appreciate and notice how much insane detail there is to the game, not to mention that it makes the actions seem way less separated. Sometimes, when I played it the first time around on the 360, it seemed more like watching a movie than playing a game, and in general I just felt very removed from the characters and what it was that I was doing. Now if I run a group of pedestrians over, or pull a gun and shoot someone, it's way more impacting and seems to carry more weight.
uncharted: golden abyss on the vita.
very good!
I'm playing Shadow of Mordor a lot in my free time, and I'm loving it.
Picked up borderlands 2 again, player a few more for, changed classes, it's compelling up to a point but I feel manipulated and when I take a step back and look at the maps they're so sameish... It's like a spreadsheet dressed up as a computer game. I can't quite figure out what sort of skill in supposed to be evidencing to do well. I might go and play some quake maps instead, or switch to something more thoughtful.
Finally beat Saints Row 4 and that was fun!
Switch Galaxy Ultra on the ol' psn is pretty neat, starts a bit slow and has unnecessary story.. but a few levels in it starts to pick up. plus some of the designers worked on Wipeout, which is pretty much why I bought it..
Bought the crew the other day while it was going for half price, not done too much of it and seem to be able to just use the one car for everything I've done so far
