So good. I kind of always knew this would happen. Surprised its taken so long. Ride were literally the only band from the 90s left whom i wanted to reform.
Ride should have stuck around longer and become as big as the other Brit rock groups from the 90s like Oasis or The Verve.
Still listen to Ride loads. I love those first three EPs. Also Carnival of Light is awesome too. This tour will be really big i reckon
It's starting to come together...

My friend Daniel turned me on to Seasurfer. Great stuff...
saw a great triple bill in NYC last night. my pals Dead Leaf Echo headlined, they've been making top notch neo-shoegaze for many years now and keep getting better:
two surprises on the bill were Wildhoney, a band from Baltimore, and Leave the Planet from the UK. the former tapped into classic dreampop vibes from 1992. really like Lilys/The Sundays with a little heavier edge:
Leave the Planet have a bit more of the synth/drum machine/Sarah Records thing going here and there. they remind me a lot of Be Forest, another great band from Italy
I remember seeing Curve back in the early 90's. We skipped work that day and hung around outside the venue hoping to meet the band after sound check. Toni Halliday came out and spoke with us then brought us indoors as it was pissing with rain. She got us a pint of guinness each which was very cool as the bar was closed at this point.
Great band, very friendly, great gig.
^there's a rumor that they might be reuniting as well. dean has been leaving cryptic posts on his facebook page...
Been listening to Whirr's Around(2013) and Sway(2014). Really good stuff.
Still rock this almost every day. One of the best shoegaze albums in recent memory...and they crush it live.

I've been banging the hell out of the new Tamaryn single. Can't wait for that album to drop.
Anyone heard Creepoid? I saw them live at a festival last month and they killed. Been listening to quite a bit of their self-titled album, and they have a new one coming out later this month.

Lush are reforming next year..wow!! .first show since 1996.. London gig announced. So going to this.
One of my favourite bands ever.

Never ever thought they would get back together.
This makes me more excited than the Slowdive and Ride reunions.
Pray to god next year it will be the Cocteau Twins turn to reform.
Holy molly! There's a dreampop thread?!
About a year ago, I had never heard of this genre until I stumbled on Trespassers William.
What else would you guys recommend that sounds similar?
i don't think that one will ever happen, as much as i want it to be true. my next hopeful is curve... so glad all these bands are getting back together, and better yet, playing incredible shows. odds are usually against "reunions" but ride, slowdive, and swervedriver were all great. i didn't see medicine, but heard great things as well...
while i'm here, this comp is legit...
Saw The Black Ryder yesterday when they opened for The Jesus and Mary Chain, excellent band.

They're releasing a live album!!!!!
Couldn't find a thread, but for what it's worth, Explosions in The Sky have a tiny update on the official site, and a link to it was posted on their FB with the message 'We are coming out of hibernation.'
I just spent a week on the road in europe with a place to bury strangers. talk about a shoegaze overload (in the best way) I got enough footage for a little tour doc and live concert. so i have that going for me, which is nice.
I'm very tempted by the Lush set but I am not that familiar with them - only heard ~6 tracks or so at random - so Im trying to narrow down whether I like a broad spread of their stuff to justify it. OTOH it's cheap. In other shoe gaze news, I bought Low's Christmas LP which has a reasonable Partner-Acceptance-Factor since its Christmas related.
New Explosions in The Sky album 'The Wilderness' drops April 1st.
