Am I the only one who is reading this book (Max Tegmark's Our Mathematical Universe) because of the AVPC? I haven't got to the part with the SAS references (it's near the end) because I want to understand the context of the book and the other pieces that go with it.

So far all I can say is I am very thankful that my previous reading lists included Michio Kaku and Richard Feynman.

Yeah I'm into that same stuff, theoretical physics , what is reality type stuff. But even having been exposed to that regularly, this book is still hard for me to comprehend. Maybe it's that I suck at math. Good for you though, that's awesome.

I might give it a read, but it appears to be real abstract.

It is fairly abstract but it's written from a personal narrative perspective, in terms of how he came to believe these things and how and why they support his theory.

Which is to say, it isn't as dry as I expected. It's well written, especially for the subject/genre.

But I'm only a few chapters in...

Awesome. So that basically means we received our own unique Quick Reference Guide to Panel K, which means we all have a unique Panel K dedicated to us (or the people that purchased the PC).

I doubt the final PC from the final trilogy will be a full blown working Panel K - that would seem to be quite expensive. But I could imagine us receiving the manual for operation and possibly a web based game that allowed us to use our own unique serial number to create simulations, maybe even those simulations will tie into the music and automatically remix them, depending on what settings you change or manipulate? That'd be cool.

edit - upon 2nd thought, a web based game seems so 2003, maybe an app dedicated to it, I dunno.

The jack has no electronics in it. In fact if you unscrew it, all that's in there is the rubber cord that goes on your keyring.

Trent and Atticus are just characters in the simulation as well, then, since they're in wireframe, right? The impression that I'm getting is that they're kind of retroactively incorporating the entire catalog into one overarching clusterfuck of echoes, mirrors, reflections, variations and relatives. A Nine Inch Nails multiverse basically.

The bottom staple of my booklet didn't take, so it's only attached at the top.

From what I can tell, the issue is ordering the PC with something else. The PC alone was sent brown envelope style, pre-sort standard 1st class in the US. Basically, a standalone PC has the stamp that mass-mailings have (junk-mail postage - no actual stamp; just ink printed on the corner). Ordering it with something else seems to be the problem, I guess. There's my 2 pennies, if that helps.

Yes, I did. I even made a comparison but I forgot to upload it yet. Also lights are different.
I was thinking About it and maybe it is because in "guide" There is default options set up. And in cover, There is picture of machine after someone used that.

Yeah mine started to get scratched after 3 days in my pocket so I took it off. Yours does have a cool TDS era "distressed" look to it though!

I've been toying with the idea of using a plastic clearcoat to see if I can seal it. Think I might look into that now that it's a bit distressed.

Yeah, no shit! I took my plug off of my keychain already because it looked just like yours and I only had it on there for a week. Pretty shitty quality. Once the logo wears off, I won't even want the damn thing anymore.
