He also has a picture on IG of the physical component with the film over one of the sheets. Not sure if it amounts to anything, but it's there.

I find his comment "Some are messier than others" quite interesting. WTF, another raw clue?

could this be a clue to check this page with the foil?
maybe the holes at the eyes mark some words from the text written on the side?

I've been playing and playing with all the audio files, trying all sorts of stuff. I'm only trying to post findings that I believe are or could be relevant. I came up with this.

    Less Than:
I took both the single and album versions, I reversed the polarity on one. They almost cancel each other out. Someone mentioned this technique was used in Capital G during the Year Zero ARG to discover something, although I do not recall this. But I figured it was worth a try and so I listened and payed close attention to the spectrograph. I also used Audacity's spectrogragh and I discovered a lot of little squares, very similar to the block code squares, placed throughout.

The audio file for this is here, if you would like to look through it yourself: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3...044SVdpRFRORUk

    This Isn't The Place:
I tried the same technique with this, but I didn't find anything of not: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3...HBMYTE2dmdteVk

However, I did notice what at first seemed like silence in the beginning of the video version of the song, but when amplified became a little more. Not to get hopes up, but I clearly hear a ringing sound and also what I believe to be a voice saying one or two words. I cannot seem to isolate the voice from the noise, so if you would like to give it a go, I'll include the files below. This is probably just some normal noise in the studio though.

Certainly worth looking at but I think this is just due to imperfection in the method. Either there is a tiny amount more silence at the beginning of one version or the other, or you didn't quite align them correctly. If they are identical (and they seem to be), using this technique should give you absolute silence.

This seems to be the phase inverted version without adding it back to the original. I assume you got essentially silence when you added them?

I don't hear voices, I just hear noise from excessive amplification. I'll listen a few more times though.

And the voice happens right before the 3 second mark on the right track.

Honestly, I doubt it's anything. I wasn't even going to share until I saw the little squares and thought about the block code.

I hear it. I don't think it's a voice, but it could be.

The reason they don't completely cancel out is because you're using lossy mp3s. Lossless versions cancel out completely. This is nothing.

I had the original files when I did this. They were WAV. I only exported them as mp3s to upload them.

Nice find. It might be nothing but it's a strange artefact.
You used the pre-release and the ep-version for this?
I'll try to reproduct this and maybe also check other songs that got pre-released.
Maybe those are to be used as a mask for the block-sheet? who knows. maybe it's nothing

EDIT: I used the lossless downloads for both of them and they cancel out completely. Please try to reproduce again.

I reversed the polarity on one of the tracks after they were cancelling each other out.

I'm not familiar enough with it, (and i regret it) but it's obvioulsy far bigger... your idea is good, could it be several QR codes ?

EDIT: Just read a bit of internal structure, actually QR code can be bigger than that. According the fact that there obviously is missing big fat squares, if we picture a QR codes without those around, we are also missing spaces needed around them, it's not a big space, but top left and top right doesn't look like it

There's something similar called Data Matrix code that doesn't have those big fat squares. Maybe? Anyone here familiar with data matrix?
