There will probably not be any more Fever Ray, but with a double LP from the Knife looming on the horizon and a new nine-minute single next week, I'm not complaining!

This is insane. I didn't expect this at all. Now I just have to figure out how I'm going to fit this on my mixes when some of the songs will take up a quarter's worth of a blank CD...

lol. I haz a car with no audio output for my iPod to plug into. Hence CDs. I like to think I'm the forerunner of early 00s revivalism, which will surely be the new hip thing mid-decade.

haven't been able to locate a working link as of yet. isn't it the point of a video to actually be seen?

It's because it's not technically supposed to be out on the internet yet so the label keeps pulling the links. I think.

Yeah it was slated for next week I believe. But that could technically be tomorrow, so. I haven't listened since that first day because the label's good at their job.

It's probably too early to say this is the best album of 2013, but shit - from the previews alone, I love this.

I listened to the previews and it sounds horrible. Too much like the music they did for the opera. I love the new single and I thought the album would be dance-y and dark. But from what I heard it sounds just dark and a pain in the ass to listen to. Too much weird sounds and no melody. I am a huge The Knife fan but this is just disappointing. The same goes for the new video... what was that? I hope they make it up for me on the concert in Munich.

I have to agree with this. The video was pointless and boring. The single has some interesting elements, but overall.. it just doesn't work for me. The samples from the album also sound boring and uninspired. I haven't written the album off till I hear it, but my expectations are super low now.

I actually love the video. I think it makes a lot of sense for the knife. It's voyeuristic and genderless... kind of their thing. I think people are expecting it to be more straight forward in the way that the Fever Ray videos all had a clear theme that matched the song in a obvious way. They were amazing, but I would be disappointed if the Knife made a video that was significantly less open to interpretation.

edit; Also, I loved the opera stuff and I still listening to it fairly regularly, so I am not bothered by some of the previews having that vibe. I think we have to remember that most of these songs are fucking long, so there is a really good chance that the previews are not showing off the meaty parts of the songs.

Everything else I've been anticipating has leaked or come out already, so this is currently my most anticipated album of the year.

I heard tooth for an eye a few days ago. Trying not to overplay it so I won't be sick of it when the actual album gets here, but it was excellent on first listen.

I've only listened to Tooth For An Eye once but it reminded me of some of the dark tropical vibes of the first two albums. Just grown-up, maybe, and a little harsher.
