Sweet, looks like TR is giving me a Birthday gift after all!
    C'mon July 13th! (I'll also accept the 12th or the 14th)

My birthday is today (the 19th), and today we all have the EP. So I guess I win, but really we all win :-)

Now, I'll be making a new NIN mix with mostly NTAE to listen to until "NEXT WEEK"!

I just hope there's something as cool as the Physical Component accompanying it and that it continues NTAE's sound and aesthetics. Burning Bright opens the doors for some really dark stuff to follow and I'd love to dive into that space.

"Next week... the new EP will be released exclusively to Apple Music members. It will be the only way to listen to the EP. I no longer love vinyl because of Firebrand and Sandbag."

And the new EP's physical component will form something with the NTAE's one...interesting.

Just a microfiber cleaning cloth with the NIN logo on it.

A crisp/clean white parchment product that accompanies and cross references the messy NTAE physical component, testing the will of the typical ocd collector.

I could see a CD set of the "trilogy" being released once all 3 EPs are out. But yeah, there won't be a physical CD of this one either.

If that looks to be the case, then I'll save my money for that day.

Wow, this is going to suddenly get Sandbag even busier! Maybe we in Europe will get Physical Component 2 ahead of Physical Component 1. Good news, but trying not to be too cynical here...

    Tomorrow.

    Also:

Rotating the new logo upside-down gives you a 7. Or perhaps even a 17..

New logo could also be the mathematical symbol for "less than".

It's the new EP- no touring this year.

Weird that he'll be announcing/releasing EP no.2 before I receive my 'NTAE' vinyl, but.... AWESOME.

Why would you say that, has it been confirmed? I still would find it weird for him to put all the band members together for only three festival dates.

It's not that weird if they plan on touring in winter 2018. That's what I'm hoping for.

Well, he said the EP is coming out before the start of the shows, and that's in two weeks, so there's pretty much no question "NEXT WEEK" refers to the announcement/release of that (and probably also an update to the store).

As for touring, he said previously there were no plans to tour this year, and the Aftershock announcement on nin.com refers to it as "a rare 2017 appearance," which wouldn't make any sense if there was a tour in the works.

The band are all seasoned NIN vets, so it's pretty simple for them to learn a couple new songs and brush up on the old ones. Sadly, since this is a festival run, I wouldn't be surprised if their 90 minute sets are comprised mostly of standard hits with only a couple new songs peppered in (though I really hope that's not the case).

The third EP will most likely be released very late in the year, so- assuming there will be a tour at all- it's massively unlikely it would be before 2018.

Fair points. But that the end of the day none of us have any clue and can just sit and wait! Either way. But Trent can't not be considering how all of this lately is gonna affect reception for the next releases(s). I'd rather have all the kinks worked out before we start throwing around new music every 6 months, that's all I'm getting at.

The "soon/two weeks" Slip/Ghosts updates were when there was nothing announced, where in this case it's already been announced what's coming. I don't take his tweet as a mystery- he's just letting us know the thing we already know about is happening next week.

Wait. You mean not EVERY NIN fan on the planet is part of this forum?? :P I get it though. But saying things are or aren't one thing or anything is just kinda masturbatory until we know anything, just part of the hype that gets drummed up. I'll take whatever we get, and if we get tour dates you're buying my drink at the next show!
