nine inch nails hallucinate in high fidelity is a compilation album created from live concert recordings from the 2013-2014 tours. One source of every song taped over the two year span was selected by me and mixed together into one set. Each song was selected based on what “sounded the best”. This could be an extra fuck here or there, an instrumental gem, or simply what sound fit in best for the album. There were 90 concert sources that the tracks were selected, from that 30 were used in this album with 60 total tracks. Transitions between songs are some of the best I’ve done compared to my previous completion albums (A Mix of All That Was 1988-2000, In This Twilight 2005-2007, A Million Miles Away 2008, All That There Ever Was 1988-2008, Banged And Blown Through 2009, A Mix Of All That There Ever Was 1988-2009). For the most part it should sound like all the tracks are from the same concert, without any cuts. If you have 5 hours to listen to this straight through, you won’t be disappointed.
Just a few observations: The tracks are heavily chosen from 2013 because of the song variations that were done with the extra backup singers. The Becoming is a bit windy but it’s still good. The bonus set is 7 tracks of songs that were only recorded once (or twice) and didn’t have the sound quality to make it in the main set. The 2 tracks with Gary Numan have good sound, only left off the main set for flow purposes. This is all lossless sourced and mixed so please don’t share in mp3 or in other lossy formats.
