I might be subconsciously projecting my current desires though and apologies for those who can't take a very bad joke.
I swear if I start hearing this as well...

"The best thing about life? It's...beer."
No, I am not joking. That's really, seriously what it sounds like to me and it damn sure wouldn't surprise me if one of them said it and it was caught on tape and they decided to hide it in the mix as a joke.

Also, I'm with you @Krazy . How the fuck am I just now noticing this on a record I've consistently listened to for 23 years?

Ever notice how the first 10 tracks on TDS have a total running time of 43:11?

Flip the numbers around, and it spells "hell"

Track 10 is A Warm Place

    Coincidence?

It's a fun coincidence, but some people trying that on the multitudes of albums they own? A lot of coincidences start showing up across fan-bases. And then the murders begin....

Which Trent has said many times wasn't intentional and he wasn't really happy with either.
Plus, Trent would have to be controlling every level of the mixing, mastering and pressing to CD, in all regions, to ensure his little hell thing was there. If he wanted to use CD to hide something, he could just use pregap yaknow

Also, my original CD rips add up to 43:15 and the new remaster adds up to 43:09, so yeah, it's a coincidence.

In Spotify is 43:10 (the original version, not deluxe), but we can think the first second of Eraser gives us the 43:11, so "Hell" could start with Eraser (whose end is the beginning of A Warm Place), when the protagonist decides to kill himself ("kill me...").

We can think all we want.
    Here's the first sector of track 11 (Eraser), at 43 minutes 14 seconds 52 frames (1 Audio CD frame = 1/75 s = 2352 bytes)

Actual 43:11:00 position on CD corresponds to 3:19:70 position of track 10 (A warm place)

Okay, so, you first need to beat every stage (and every goal) in Super Mario World aside from the Vanilla, Forest, and Valley Fortresses. Now, go to Chocolate Island 3 and do the end-level glitch to corrupt the overworld. Play every Fortress in this order: Vanilla Fortress (+ Butter Bridge 1 & 2), Forest Fortress, and finally Valley Fortress. You will need to activate the overworld glitch before you enter each one, and be sure to have also activated the glitch before you entered Chocolate Fortress when you played it. When you defeat Reznor at the end of each Fortress, make sure you beat him BEFORE the bridge disappears from under you. Also, you need to have finished the Special Zone before you entered Vanilla Dome. Now, go to Bowser's Castle (Front Door!!!) and go through doors 3 and 6. After door 6, you'll be put into a secret room with a '9' above it. Enter and face nine Reznors simultaneously. Beat them and watch the end credits. While Reznor is on the screen in the credits, press play on your SNES-CD with The Downward Spiral (original 1994 pressing!! important!!!1) set to track 10: 'A Warm Place'. A clean recording of the message at the beginning of the song will be played.

This is like watching those paranormal shows of garbled nonsense until a they put a phrase in your head and you start to hear it too. If there was an intentional line thrown into that recording it would have been debunked by now by Trent himself. It's cool though.

"probably say i'm right and he'll probably say, you're an idiot." teenage kid then says: "you're an idiot" right after. (played through smart phone speakers)

"When I'm saying "I'm rising", he'll probably say, You're an idiot" (played through headphones)

"but-i-said notsurprising, you'll probably see there, including Gary"

The more I listen to the soundcloud link it keeps changing. WEIRD.

"Like-I-said-Not-surprising, you'll probably see me there, including Gary." The beginning is spoken really fast, like they recorded a conversation with some people in the studio or at some meeting.

"obviously not correct, you'll probably see me there, including Gary" ok im done ahahahahaha this is making me insane.

Gary Talpas! GARY TALPAS!!!!! That's who they're talking about!

"OBVIOUSLY NOT SURPRISING YOU'LL PROBABLY SEE ME THERE, INCLUDING GARY."

Well I always thought it sounded like "The best part about life, is knowing you put it there" but I think Ryan here is onto something.

Actual answer: "The best part of life is knowing you put it together..."

Or: "The best part of life is having a bunch of your fans still trying to figure out something from a song from almost 25 years ago..."

I've had a little attempt of trying to clean it up slightly using the Knockout filter on Audacity (as well as a few other filters ) and this is as clear as I've ever gotten it
What I now hear sounds to me like "The best thing about life is knowing you haven't lived it yet" or "You didn't live it yet"

I took a crack at it. https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/TsGX2uNcTkGTZ4Pu8 personally I don’t hear anything anyone has mentioned including the ‘put it together’ line. I hear something along the lines of “there’s a lot of us probably sitting here, (muffled voice lower) including...” other variations I sort of hear is “there’s a lot of us probably sinning here, including...” or “there’s a lot of us in the city here, including...” I don’t know. But I do not think it’s “the best thing about life is knowing you put it together.”
