Chuck Foster from The Big Takeover music-based magazine delivers an amazing review of the MAKE YOUR BODY SWAY EP...
"The world’s best underground electronic artist triumphantly returns yet again, this time adding hip-hop to his repertoire.
Right away, “Sway” opens with a hard-hitting, heavy beat augmented by a myriad of sounds and Marcuss from Dope Tendencies rapping about the bass. It’s a powerful statement that Michael Matteo, aka Neorev, can attack hip-hop with as much energy as everything else he’s done and still be ready action long the party has passed out. Macuss continues on “So Twisted,” a skulking, Southern-style celebration of marijuana. Rapper Centri takes over on “Get ‘Em,” which explodes with the bombastic quality of Dr. Dre collaborating with The Bomb Squad, though things relax a bit on “Terrible Sky,” a dark, sinister dubstep-ish collaboration with female vocalist “It Was July” that evokes all the speed-induced paranoia of cyberpunk. Two instrumentals, “Here Comes The Pain” and “Disrupt The Scene” round out the release with the thoughtful, subversive electronica that has become Neorev’s staple.
As to be expected, a slew of remixes from the likes of Aquila, Dope Tendencies, Jericho-X and Thermonuclearity add to the EP, making it more of a full-length album, though an official download garners instrumental versions of the songs, as well as even more remixes. At the staggering price of FREE, it’s well worth the megabytes.
Fortunately, Neorev shows no signs of slowing down or getting lazy. Instead, he’s defiantly releasing music in the face of the ignorant music industry. More power to him: May many more come."

So July 7th will be the 5th anniversary of my first official album LINES & SHAPES and for the next month I plan on doing some special things to help celebrate the occasion. LINES & SHAPES was my homage to the early 90's warehouse rave and hardcore breaks movement that I fell in love with when I was younger. Gonna have a little contest/giveaway at the end of the month where fans will have a chance to win some cool little gifts and some rare exclusive NR goodies. Something to make this occasion fun and give supporters the chance to own a piece of NR history to show my appreciation.
If you are not following the official NR Mixcloud page, now is the time to do so because things are gonna get exciting from here on out. To help celebrate the upcoming 5th anniversary, I will be posting rare recordings from back in the day of my performances on Electro-Music.com's online radio station. Starting this Monday, and on every following Monday after, a new recording will be posted up until the anniversary date one month from today. All of these have only been aired once and that's the day that they were broadcasted live from State Machine Studios and some include exclusive unreleased tracks.
So it's going down, y'all!
Let's have some fun and bring in the summer with a bang!
So please come follow the official NR Mixcloud page at http://www.mixcloud.com/neorev where the magic will be happening for the next month.
And thank you all for the love and support these last five years and for spreading the love of NR around the globe.
Let's travel back in time to the Lines & Shapes days. The 2009 Autumnal Equinox broadcast was my first performance on Electro-Music.com online radio station. Lines & Shapes had only been out for a few months. Came a long way since then, but you still gotta respect your roots and where you progressed from.

So things with the album release have been a little chaotic and out of whack. IT IS COMING, I PROMISE. Just things have been delayed slightly through a little mix up getting the digital and physical release in order. My apologies for the confusion. A new official date will be announced VERY soon.
To show my appreciation for your support, patience, and understanding... how about a brand new song???

Review is up on Big Takeover Magazine!
Long Island’s Neorev finally returns to the physical format after six years with bona fide “best of” that collects collaborative highlights from his now out of print Bandcamp EPs with some stunning new material, proving, once and for all, that he is the best electronic artist you’ve never heard of.
Disrupt the Scene carefully celebrates the many modes of electronic dance music without sacrificing artistic integrity in the process. Most of the tracks center on hip-hop, beginning with the opening onslaught of “Sway” featuring rapper Marcuss, who also appears on “So Twisted.” Later, Centri brings a Kool Keith weirdness to “Prune Juice” and “Monetary Policy,” while Villain completely dominates the hardcore drum & bass of “Rough, Rugged, N’ Raw” and the dubstep attack of “Start the Revolution.” Kid Versus Chemical even drops jaws on the Wu-Tang-inspired “Smiles and Handshakes.” On the other side of the spectrum, It Was July adds an upbeat pop sensibility to “No Control” and “Revolution,” but shows range in darker tracks, like “Terrible Sky” and “The Switch,” and Noise Generator incorporate their industrial touch in “Shock Wave.” It’s not just dance music, it’s real music borne from electronics, but raised on a rock sensibility that stays away from the average 4/4 thumping you hear in the club.
At this point, Neorev should be Diplo, but he’s not, and maybe that’s a good thing. He’s still an artist who’s not afraid to take chances, beholden to no one but himself, and that’s perfect.
