Turn this thread to 11! This is SPINAL TAP!

Funny in 1983 and still hilarious today. Great soundtrack too. Some of my favorite scenes:

RIP, John "Stumpy" Pepys, Eric "Stumpy Joe" Childs and Peter "James" Bond.

    Stonehenge:

Is based on a real incident from Black Sabbath's 1983 tour. Great interview with Ian Gillan, explaining the Stonehenge disaster.

    And of course:

And then, years later, Metallica shamelessly steal Spinal Tap's artwork:

I really did get lost backstage at a show in Cleveland (our SM didn't do a great job marking out directions). You'd better believe I shouted a few "HELLO CLEVELAND"s while I was trying to figure out how the hell to get to the stage.

"If I told them once, I told them a HUNDRED times ..."

"Oh, we got a bigger dressing room than the PUPPETS?"

Jesus, I saw this in 1984 and I'm STILL FUCKING LAUGHING AT THIS MOVIE, every.time.

I fucking love this movie. There is never a dull moment in that film. Of course, the greatest scene in the film is.... STONEHENGE.

This thread inspired me to nominate this flick for one of our "movie nights" after work. 20-something colleague says "what's Spinal Tap?".

    I can't even.

Look, who's in here? NO ONE.

And then in here, there's a li'l guy.

    So it's a complete catastrophe.

I really do think Jazz Odyssey had some serious potential to be great. Derek Smalls is so underrated.

Love the original film. Fingers crossed that the sequel doesn't completely suck.
