Quick bit of Trent (and keyboard smashing!) in this trailer for the upcoming home video release of The Defiant Ones.

So I see this absolute scumbag Glee actor Mark Salling plead guilty to possessing child pornography. Then I put his name on a YouTube search and he’s wearing a goddamn The Slip t-shirt. Google him, find an interview where he says his dream guest star on Glee would be Trent Reznor.

People should’ve never let Glee get as big as it did. Write original songs!

Is this interview being discussed anywhere yet? I didn't see it mentioned anywhere. Atticus discussing working with NIN in 2002: "...and then we went to New Orleans to try and finish a record that still isn't quite finished." Bleedthrough lives! cc: @sheepdean

Lately though, modern musicians have embraced covers as a way of presenting the fan behind the brand. Covers are a way to express authentic selves, revealing the blend of creative influences that shaped their own craft, perhaps spurred on by iconic forerunners such as Fugees’ “Killing Me Softly” and Johnny Cash’s raw take on Nine Inch Nails’ “Hurt.”

Not able to actually watch this as I’m travelling, but there’s mention of TR by Jem Archer of Oasis. Must be that time he was photographed in a studio with Trent and Alan Moulder while making With Teeth

Nine Inch Nails first wrote a song for you that you turned down…

“Jeez, I don’t remember that. Is that true, Dean? Oh [laughs]. I love Trent [Reznor], I can’t believe I didn’t like something he turned in.”

Good spotting. If it's useful I've had a listen and here's what he says:

    • You worked with Nine Inch Nails as well.
    • No, that’s a complete fallacy.
    • Oh.
    • Honestly it’s weird I don’t know I think it came from when we were in The Village studio in LA and Trent Reznor was in the other studio - and that’s it.
    • That’s it.
    • I mean, honestly, I’ve hit them with a ping pong – I’ve definitely hit them with a ping pong ball. I know that.
    • Okay that’s it. That’s your production technique.
    • That was it.
    • That might have inspired him…
    • See how he’ll respond to that. But no, no, that’s one of those weird…
    • Yeah, myth.
    • Myths.

Can't imagine Trent playing ping pong with the guys from Oasis. Maybe they were just chucking stuff at him, which is a bit mean.

Thanks I haven't even listened yet! But he was pictured in the studio with Alan Moulder I'm sure, I think I saw it in the NIN Hotline under news

Found an image - is that Gem Archer there ?

They're listening to a mix playback in that photo. Jeordie didn't work on With Teeth either, I think the Pro Sound article (archived here) jumped the gun by mistakenly reporting that they were overdubbing from reading into the photo things that weren't happening. MORE LIKE PRO SOUND FAKE NEWS!

An early screener version of Best F(r)iends (the new flick starring Tommy Wiseau) uses two tracks from Gone Girl. "Like Home" and "At Risk".

Listened to the song til around the 5 and a half minute mark and thought "Yep, It's a cover of the Halloween song. Nothing else to say" then I was about to turn it off, but skimmed it a bit and heard this bad-ass drumming part, so I got intrigued again and skipped back to listen in full. The drumming beat at the end really ramps up the song. I wish they had that part longer. It's the best part of this cover.

    a) That's Jeordie, maybe Atticus, Alan, and Trent.

    b) So glad I cite my sources. When I saw this post earlier this week, I was like, "Gem Archer worked with NIN?" Imagine my sense of throwback upon seeing that post. I remember thinking it was weird at the time, but there was also a lot going on at the time - plenty of rumors about new guitarists and bassists, and I didn't know the first thing about Gem Archer, I just thought it would be a really odd crossover for a dude from Oasis to be working with Trent.

It's nice to see Gem cleared that up!

Manson is on the latest WTF with Marc Maron episode. Talks about Trent, but I don't know how much.

"Marilyn talks about his early years getting kicked out ofChristian school, being beaten up for playing the triangle in the school band, and starting up a poetry night for his first taste of performing. He also talks about becoming friends withAlice Cooper, patching things up with Trent Reznor, and getting a kick out of David Lynch."

He talked about how he and Trent are on good terms now, and how a lot of their feud was because of record label issues and their drug habits at the time.

From Mindhunter episode 7 on Netflix.

More than likely not a NIN reference but it made me perk up given the Fincher connection.

Also the same character in this episode literally said "What's in the box?" earlier LOL.

So... I use a customized Bing search that allows me to find specific search criteria and saves that search so I can just make a few clicks and it pulls up articles that mentions "Trent Reznor", funny one came up today - https://www.sciencenews.org/blog/gro...g-their-babies

First off... I'm kinda hesitate to post this post (and even the one from yesterday), just because... I don't know if some people would consider them "NIN sightings", maybe their more like NIN references, but whatever

I have another... really strange NIN sighting today, might even be better than yesterdays. At first, I thought maybe this was a different Trent Reznor, maybe someone in politics, but, turns out it is the Trent Reznor, and apparently there's a "Trent Reznor Prize for tricky embedding". http://languagelog.ldc.upenn.edu/nll/?p=35067

Here's the "tricky embedding" Trent used in an interview that is used in comparison to the above article - http://itre.cis.upenn.edu/~myl/langu...es/002621.html
