    Songs with NIN DNA

Do you know songs that have a certain NIN quality to it? Probably.

    I'll start with a few.

    Mac Quayle Mr. Robot Soundtrack

    1.1_3-oneor0.wma (starting at 25:16)
    1.2_1-IwillbeCTO.m4p (starting at 37:50)

Hans Zimmer The Dark Knight Soundtrack

Akira Yamaoka Silent Hill 2 Soundtrack

That one could be a straight from the TDS era. Absolutely love it. That bass synth is just crazy.

A Perfect Circle Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums

That's an obvious one. This has NIN all over it since it was remixed/produced by Danny Lohner.

    Gary Numan — Lost

    Again, obvious.

Depeche Mode — Should Be Higher

I never really got into Depeche Mode but that song always blows my mind.

    Siriusmo — Nights Off

    Death Note Soundtrack

I absolutely love the Death Note soundtracks and I think there's a lot of Trent's DNA in it. If you like that song you should definitely check them out. The soundtracks are splitted between instrumental Ghost-like songs like the one above and normal score work, which isn't that interesting to me.

    Splitter — Swimming With Dolphins

That synth line starting at 2:12 is fricking awesome. I've listened to Splitter for quite some time now and it took me almost a year to find out that he's from my home town! Highly recommended.

Alright – that's it for now!

Any specific song from that album? That's the band from Ilan, right? Just listened to "Touch of Reality", pretty cool!

Someone as in "me" – yeah. But I did not compare Siriusmo as an artist to NIN. It's just that "Nights Off" struck a chord with me that I somehow connect to NIN.

Yeah, that's the song that screamed "NIN" to me the first time I heard it. Ilan said that Trent gave him lots of advice while he was making Exhibit A.
@aggroculture Chemlab rarely get the love they deserve! But I don't know if they were influenced by NIN, since their debut album was released on the same year as PHM. However, I'm sure they drew influence from Throbbing Gristle, KMFDM and Ministry, just like Trent. Jared is one hell of a dude. Have you listened to The Dark Age of Consent by Prude? I could describe it as a "continuation of the Chemlab spirit".

I agree about shared influences, and I also think Chemlab were never really NIN-fluenced, unlike other bands such as Stabbing Westward, where you can hear it more clearly.
I used to be in contact with Jared and see him around when I lived in London. Awesome guy!

Yep, I've always thought that about that song!

Discovered this one recently. From 1.11 - it's very With Teeth-era.

I always thought Butterfly Caught and Antistar by Massive Attack sounding like something by NIN
