If they go and write another boring flawless character like Rey in there for this then yeah it's going to stink of just casting a female lead for the sake of doing it for PC points. There's nothing wrong with female action leads, we've had that plenty in really great action/sci fi movies already.

You DO realize that while you're asking that you're ALSO quoting a screencap of a 1st person POV shot of rebels being gunned down by Imperial forces, as seen from DEAD CENTER in the middle of the killzone...right?

I told myself a while ago "I won't interact with this guy anymore."

    But here I go anyway!

It says a lot about you, Rabbit, that you think a woman being the main character is automatically for PC points, not that half of the global population is female and that it's wrong that our society views male mains as being the "default." If a character is uninteresting to you and is a woman, then their gender is clearly some political move? Really?

And I am sorry but please, tell me how Luke in A New Hope is remotely more interesting or better a character than Rey is. Luke is a bland vehicle for the audience to be introduced to the much more interesting world around him and does not become neat whatsoever until Empire.

All you do on here is go around and shit on other people's joy and it's exhausting. You made TFA a fucking trainwreck to talk about on here. Please, seriously, don't do it to this one, too. Let it go.

No, no,no, no. I have no problems with female leads. Some of my favorite movies have, and my favorite movie of last year had a female lead. It has nothing to do with that but when something is so goddamn blatantly obvious then i have to call it out for what it is. Rey was a terrible character. Completely terrible. A flawless character of any gender is a shitty written character. What the fuck is the point? Cast a female, not a cardboard cut out of a different sex.

Funny, I had this talk with my mom the other day, hilariously enough, about TFA. I hadn't seen her in a while and the topic came up. She was laughing about how annoyed i got when talking about that shit movie, she laughed at me and said "oh stop, it's for kids, it's a kids movie"

And then i told her that majority of Star Wars fans are currently over 25.... she looked at me appalled, like i was lying, and changed the subject! lol
I apologize if i shit all over people and their joy but you people shit on my joy when the next few years will look something like

A reboot of an adaptation of a comic book. A sequel to a sequel to an adaptation of a comic book. A sequel to a reboot of an adaptation of a TV show. A sequel to a sequel to a reboot of an adaptation of a comic book. A sequel to a cartoon. A sequel to a sequel to a cartoon. A sequel to a sequel to a sequel to a cartoon. One sequel to a sequel to a sequel to a movie based on an amusement-park ride. One prequel to a remake. Two sequels to cartoons. One sequel to a comedy. An adaptation of a children's book. An adaptation of a Saturday-morning cartoon. One sequel with a 4 in the title. Two sequels with a 5 in the title and so on and so on and so on and so on

If you think those are the only movies out these days then it's not my fault it's your fault for only seeing mass-marketed movies. Look at any Oscar nominee list or look at any indie festival award ceremony and you'll see that a whole lot else is out there. Or you can stay angry at the world like you're above it and keep giving people a hard time on the internet. Up to you I guess.

OT: What's everyone here think of the rumors of bounty hunters and Boba Fett possibly appearing in this? Personally I'd love it if it was done in an organic way. It would make a lot of sense if the Rebels are going to be hunted after getting the plans that Vader would've tried to recruit someone like Fett to be in the mix. It'd also be a really, really great opportunity to maybe show why in Empire Fett's able to act pretty insubordinate towards Vader rather than bowing down in fear like everyone else.

@RhettButler I think it's not that crazy when you think about how really, it's the first that's able to not have to be a part of the "main" story of the series and in turn gets to be a cool stand alone thing. It's also the first time we'll get to see more of the under-explored aspects of the SW universe, whereas every one of the main films is the classic Jedi v Sith struggle. It definitely has the potential to be a real breath of fresh air in the franchise.

No kidding. I get the feeling that people don't need to 'shit on this guy's joy' anyways. People like that are miserable enough on their own already. Let them wallow in their own sadness lol.

But those movies are becoming less and less. There's especially very little big budget risks. Now "summer" movies have stretched to almost half the damn year when it used to be like 4 months. That's a serious problem.

Notice how all the creativity is happening on "tv". The movies are now aimed at 25 year old and under males. This is awwffffullll

    Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you for participating in auditions for Echoing The Sound.

Unfortunately we don't have a place for you in the production.

Lots of people have auditioned, and of course, we have limited places for casting, and we are looking for particular characters and in particular combinations.

We really appreciate you giving your time but unfortunately you do not fit our production's needs.

    Best of luck.

And all you do is act like a gatekeeper for other people's tastes and hobbies. Tell me, how old are you and how many message boards have you been banned from?

@Hazekiah, I'd be willing to wager the trailer will show before Civil War. Corporate synergy!

For some reason I can't see our fellow @Rabbit 's posts, but everyone's entitled to their opinion and have a right to express it. But it's kinda like a bar, you see ? If you come in and start yelling that everyone's retarded and that the beer is sparkly donkey piss, you might have a bad time after a while. You can express your views, but if you're loud, invasive and annoying doing so, chances are you'll get escorted out after a while.

Your reasoning and arguments are worth considering and pondering, but it's just too taxing to isolate them from the condescending loudmouth who's spouting them. Try to switch your persona and rhetoric, you might find out you can have an actual adult discussion with some people in here.

Now, if you're not interested by that... What the flying fuck are you still doing in this rotting carrion we call a forum ?

Yeah I can see you replied @Rabbit , I just can't read it, as far as the forum's concerned your post doesn't exist.
Man I really miss this opportunity to have a mature and level-headed dialogue with you, we have so much to learn from each other...
Double checked and it doesn't look like I'm ignoring anyone, that's weird, probably should report this...

Rabbit used to go on rants praising the rich storytelling of the Halo video games, even pointing to the associated fan-fiction novels as evidence that there was something really special going on there... Hearing him complain about how pulp sci-fi fantasy films just aren't high-brow enough for him gets a little tired after a while, but maybe he'll grow out of the "mainstream sheeple entertainment isn't intellectually stimulating enough for meeeeeeeeeee!" phase.

I think I argued with him once, then decided he probably wears a fedora, says "meh" a lot, "hearts" bacon and craft beer, and has some ridiculous facial hair. Then I let it go...because he's choosing to go through life like that.
It's an act. A troll hipster character he was playing.
