the humor was perfect, in my opinion, to balance the more dramatic and upsetting moments. Spoiler: it was especially hilarious when luke literally just threw the lightsaber away, after the buildup from the end of TFA, and we spent two years wondering what would happen. it was like rian johnson saying, "oh, your expectations for this movie? yeah, i'm throwing them out." and he really did, which was fantastic.
also, like with TFA, i started crying as soon as the opening crawl began. i cried so many times as the movie progressed. a lot of things hit me really hard.
Spoiler: yoda showing up was completely unexpected, and it was so refreshing that he was muppet yoda and not fucking CGI. that was one of many moments where i gasped loudly.
i can not wait to see it again.
