Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Even though it is pretty much Modern Warfare 2.5, there are some new additions that make it more fun to play. Been playing non stop. Opinions?

Bought it, clocked the campaign, played about 3-4hrs of multi, then sold it.
    S.S.D.D. indeed.

Not too bad - nothing revolutionary, but I'm still having fun with it.

I'm really enjoying it except for the spawning. At times it's fine, but others it's atrocious. Yesterday I spawned ON an enemy's tac. insertion, with him standing right next to it. Luckily he was sniping and didn't notice, but that isn't the point. I can't tell you how many times I spawn and either have an enemy looking at me already, or just move around a corner and there they are. I'll spawn in a building and there will be a guy directly on the other side of the wall so when I go outside he's ready to shoot me. I really like Kill Confirmed, though, even if it can be a pain in the ass when you all spawn within 5 sq. ft. of each other and can't go anywhere because some points of the level are too crowded with shit.

Yea the perk system is pretty sweet. I like the new additions they added like when you have Hardline Pro, 2 assists count as a kill so you are not always missing out on a kill if a teamate decides to run up and kill someone you have been shooting for 2 minutes. The delayed trips on claymores and bouncing bettys gets a bit annoying at times. Still good old fashion COD killin'. And you get to keep your killstreak going on the support package is sweet, plus killstreak kills count against your streak also which I like. It keeps the game flowing good.

We gotta play sometime.. I always see you online.

I love how they handled the killstreak and support packages. I usually tend to go with the Support package on my better classes and on my sub-par classes I go for killstreak package. Not saying my sub-pay classes are bad, just the skill needed to rack up a lot of kills more efficiently it's best to have my AK-47 Class.

I also use the MP42 revolver as my secondary in every class. I fucking like that gun.

i cant believe how many times people have prestiged already. ive had it since the first day out, and have a little over a days worth of game time on it. im only at level 72. game play is good, but i suck. k/d ration is .64, but i just play to have fun. kill confirmed and team defender are what i play 90% of the time. team death match is just a waste of time. i rotate ump45, pp90m1, ak47 and acr. always use the stinger and support. love taking out choppers and uavs.

So now I totally regret buying the hardened edition. I never gave one shit about stat tracking beyond K/D ratio and whatever basic stats they show within the barracks. They made me think it would be this awesome hub for all my COD needs. Fuck that, I don't use Call of Duty Elite AT ALL.

At least you'll get all the map packs for no extra charge, which if I understand correctly means you save $10. I believe they plan on releasing 4 packs at $15 each.

    Edit:

See I'm constantly looking at challenges to see what I can do to rank up quicker. I've had it since day one and since I don't have a job, I've been playing it a bunch. I'm on the..4th(?) prestige with like 3.5 days of playtime. This is also with my friend sending me a bunch of 2x xp codes from Mt. Dew. Other than that, I run the Specialist Strike Package a lot because that gets you a lot of points. It also helps when you get more kills in the time you play. Nothing against you as you said you are having fun, but obviously more kills equals more points. Since I've been playing COD since COD2, I'm experience enough that I dislike it when I have more deaths than kills. This isn't really a problem in an objective mode, as long as I was successfully playing the objective, but the more kills you can get, the more benefit to your team.

That's every COD game, sadly. I can't understand why they STILL haven't figured out how to spawn people.

While I do know what you mean since I've been playing these games since COD2, NONE of them were as bad as this. Last night I was playing Domination on Village and at the time we only had C because it threw FOUR of us into a game where we were already being dominated. After we took C, there was an enemy sitting right outside of it, killing us and noone could seem to kill him. Well, THREE times in a row, it spawned me in the little shack right in front of C, even with that dude right there. Now I understand the occasional spawn-in-someones-view killcam, but this is obnoxious. I'm killed by a Predator missile, and then when I spawn, I die, only to watch the killcam and see that the dude with the Predator was right there when I spawned. I could go on and on with examples, but at least when the spawning was this bad in Black Ops, they fixed it to an acceptable point within the week. It's been over a month for MW3.

Played some online last night for the first time since the week it came out. Did alright once I got back into the swing of things, screwed around with some different weapons. I'm still not very familiar with many of the maps, that makes it pretty tough. And the spawning definitely sucks.

I got my first MOAB yesterday. I only even tried for a nuke once in MW2 and it felt cheap to use a vehicle killstreak reward to earn the kills, so I never equipped it again. Yesterday I unlocked the Striker so I decided to try it after hearing how good it is. Me and three friends were playing Team Tactical and we got Domination on Carbon. We owned A and B, and I just kept running between B and that building to the left of C (while looking from B). I had the Specialist package so it only took me 24 kills, but I got two after that so even without Hardline I would have gotten it. I'm the first of my friends to get one and I'd never actually seen it in the game before, just on Youtube videos. It was very exciting.

I like this game a lot and love the series but I'm finding myself not wanting to play it as much sadly. I revisited an older game too and I must say this...

Black Ops > Modern Warfare 3

Sorry but it's true. To me, anyways.

Finally got a ps3 and this game, and I can finally have an opinion about this game. I think it's terrible, even worse than mw2. I'd rather tolerate the bullshit on mw2 than this game. Shot registration on this game is TERRIBLE and inconsistent. Sometimes I can kill someone quite easily, and other times I'll get hitmarkers for DAYS, and even be unable to kill someone will a full clip of ammo when every shot is on.

Also, why the FUCK does last stand and deathstreaks still exist? Last stand has always been one of the most annoying and complained about aspects of the game, and deathstreaks are a dumb idea. Why reward someone for doing bad?

Black Ops 2... IN THE FUTURE!!!

Not sure how this should be considered Black Ops if it's supposed to be futuristic. Curious to see how this pans out though. It's going to need to do a little more gameplay-wise for me to even consider dropping a cent on this one. Time for a new game. I'd say I'm going with Halo, but they're guilty of the same thing as well.

Mason and Woods! They're old though.

The game is supposed to take place in the 21st century and still have the Cold War occurring. It's so awkward and cheesy but it looks so good and looks like an amusing change of pace.

One week after Halo 4? My wallet will be empty.

That article has a bunch of info about Black OPs II, makes it sound a little less like the same damn idea as Modern Warfare. Part of the campaign is going to take place in the 80's, and apparently it's going to be a branching storyline instead of the usual linear. Also there are missions called Strike Force missions that sound pretty different.

Maybe the thread can become a 'Call of Duty' catch all now that we have official confirmation of Call of Duty: Ghosts...

Link includes teaser trailer with no gameplay of course...more to be announced on May 21st with the new Xbox reveal. Interesting note, the chief export of Sri Lanka is wooden furniture!

Looks like that's just a mistake in the article. It's in the header of that article and IGN says it's coming for 360, has the 360 box art too. IGN says "...will hit Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in addition to being "available for next generation platforms."
