So Glassjaw is stopping by in Charlotte in July for 28.00. Should I go? Not 100% familiar with their material though I’ve liked what I have heard.
opinions?

Yes. They're great live IMO.
the tour is with another really important post-hardcore band, Quicksand. You should totally go. Both bands are good.
After payday next week I'm gonna buy my ticket then!
Definitely go see them. I have the pleasure of being born on Long Island so catching them live is always accessible. After five times, it still feels fresh and electric every show.
Just recently put some more time into the new album and it gets better with every listen. Very well balanced.
Going this thursday!!!
2022 shows or new tracks? I'll take both please.

7. Stars
8. Jesus Glue
9. Babe
10. Closer
all of my fav glassjaw songs are contained within the "my color green" & "coloring book" EPs. nothing else holds a candle to those for me. still super disappointed in material control :/
If we're talking cohesiveness, Coloring Book imo takes the crown on that one and I adore that EP; was able to snag two physical EP's for that tour .
Material Control is def an odd ball, and I didn't enjoy it on my first 2 listens until one day, it clicked to me. It's a different kind of beast compared to their previous full lengths, and def a grower. 6 weeks in the making for M.C. and they can still pump out quality tunes.
I fall into the common POV re: Material Control...that it's worst aspect is the production. I think alot of the songs are written well, and come off pretty well live.
Both of those EP's are marvelous. Black Nurse blew my fucking mind when it first came out. and the groove in the upbeat parts of this song is just....nasty:

I fucking hope so. I've seen them 7 times and nothing, but at least I will finally be able to hear Motel of the white locust. And absolutely agree with Material Controls production... It really limits a lot of what is actually going on musically. Once I amped the treble a bit and messed with the equalizer, I heard stuff I didn't on the first two listens. Vanilla is soooo good live though!
Wish they had two guitarists on tour, helps with the depth some of those songs definitely deserve.
There's something charming about the fact they only have one guitarist. Not sure what it is about some of the tracks but only having the single guitar with the distorted bass feels great.
