Maybe Frank's best. I can see why he was called "the voice," there was/is/never will be another Sinatra.

Bob Dylan has a new Frank tribute CD.

I wish Trent would take Dylan's lead and release an album of Sinatra standards. My picks:

    1. In The Wee Small Hours
    2. Angel Eyes
    3. Guess I'll Hang my Tears out to dry
    4. (One More for My baby) And One More For the Road
    5. A Cottage For Sale
    6. I'll Never Smile Again
    7.Where Are You?
    8. Laura
    9. I'm a Fool to Want You
10.. Somethin' Stupid (duet with Shirley Manson)
    11. My Way
    12. The Gal That Got Away/It Never Entered my Mind

I love "My Way" and I love the fact that David Bowie attempted to translate the song into English and failed where he was later inspired to write one of his greatest songs in "Life on Mars?"

New boxset World on a String is excellent.

Listening to the Vegas boxset now, and it's fucking gold. It's like being at the Sands and being there to see Frank in his prime. He was the greatest, period.

He'd probably punch the shit out of Il Duce and then call Sid Vicious to shoot the motherfucker.

Frank had become a conservative Republican and donated shitloads of money to Reagan. His daughter Nancy said Frank would be fine with the Trump administration's use of the song.

Years ago I found a giant Sinatra torrent. It's sorted by year, and there were some years he was absurdly prolific. In all, it's 1285 songs (though some are doubles or different versions) and I'm still making my way through it to this day. It's nice to check out new ones when I feel like it and add them to my ever-growing list of favorites. It's a slow process, though, because the favorites are all so good...

    Love me some Frank.

Sinatra at the Sands and The Rat Pack: Live at the Sands are two of the best live albums of all time. The Rat Pack's comedy was decades ahead of their time.

    And also kind of outdated:

This also gave me a laugh:

I'm listening to the new Sinatra 3-disc set, Standing Room only. Starting with disc 3, from October 1987. Sound quality is superb and Frank still sounds very good, considering his age (72). Packaging is real nice too, with some great photos and an essay.

    R.I.P. Old Blue Eyes.

I had some Jack Daniels in your honor, tonight, sir.

Long lost Sinatra song "Lush Life," available on the deluxe reissue of Only the Lonely out 10/19.

    Interesting history of the song:

I generally prefer stereo over mono, but I will say, the new mono mix of Sinatra Sings For Only the Lonely is amazing--so intimate and personal, like you're listening to Frank sing at the bar, Jack in hand, 2:45 AM as he sings of loss and lonliness.
