I'd expect NIN not to play the Grammys or to sign back on a label either tbh

Bowie didn't "refuse" to attend, he's not Axl fucking Rose. He was on tour, playing to thousands of people in Europe, during his induction.

As far as I know the only people who refused to attend were Van Morrison and The Sex Pistols.

Sad thing about Rod Stewart is that he had to miss the Faces getting inducted too, I think he was sick.

allegro mentioned this earlier but there have been some pretty awesome performances over the years, something that makes this whole mess of an institution kind of worth it.

Do we really want to see Trent jam? I don't think he can fit in with something like Chic or whoever is filling in for SRV.

This is like a physical manifestation of the saying 'too many cooks spoil the broth'. Can the people raving about it in the comments actually see or hear? (I hate billy Joel so badly too)

The only thing it's missing is Richard Simmons. (And Paul McCartney)

I was against this whole thing but if it means Trent getting onstage and jamming with ghosts from wax trax past like Al Jourgensen and Marty Atkins and Bill Leeb and Ogre...then go for it...an industrial wet dream

Fair enough. More or less, the ones not instigated by Paul Shaffer are the ones that come out smelling like roses. I think he's still the musical director but in recent years The Roots have been the house band, thankfully.

Finally, something we can agree on. That would be incredible to see. Not sure it would happen but it would be amazing.

No cover version will ever be better than the BBC's, so why bother

Not anymore, they aren't. Something like 25% NIN (first place) to 8% Green Day.

Although I gotta say...with the Smiths and Kraftwerk in there, it's a little hard for me to actually vote NIN this time around.

Kraftwerk is in 3rd place now, which is kind of surprising. I'm always surprised how War winds up on these ballots, and it's no wonder they aren't rating so well in this list. They would have had better luck calling them "the 'Low Rider' guys".

well deserved nomination, I'm guessing Nirvana getting in has opened the floodgates for that era

and call me a philistine but are War really that big of a deal? While I respect their contribution to marmite adverts and that cheech and chong movie, ermmm

A lot of people are probably asking "does that band that wrote a song about wanting to fuck animals deserve to be on this is list?" too.

And yeah, for the record I don't think I know what War has done outside of making one of the ultimate cruising songs. :P

When does this poop voting end? Maybe it's somewhere and I missed it but don't see an end date for the votes...
