Very cool indeed. When I get some free time I'm gonna have to delve into their live stuffs.

This must have been what Joe Lally meant when he said the fans would get a treat soon when I saw him in Austin. This is very cool and I'm stoked for it. I can't wait to hear how chaotic some of these shows are.

Yes! I was so stoked to see articles about this in both the NY Times & the Washington Post. Have loved these guys for so many years... recordings aren't up yet for the old shows I went to, but it's only a matter of time. I feel like a kid in a candy store on the Dischord site these days.

I didn't know where to post this, being that this is the only thread involving Ian Mackaye and the only Albini thread I see is the Big Black thread I started..

A somewhat lengthy, two part interview between Ian Mackaye and Steve Albini

Lots of bits on the 80's underground, Ian's involvement with Al Jourgensen on Pailhead, how Ian taught Steve about doubling vocals during the scrapped session for 'In On The Kill Taker' and their mutual disdain for formulaic hardcore bands

Never knew about their live recording archive before...thanks so much!

The two shows they played at the Congress Theater with Shellac back in 2000 were AWESOME. Especially considering the $5 ticket price, lol. Gotta love it!

In between Mexican wrestling nights at the same venue, no less.

Also, my gf and I were walking home from the 2nd show when some guys who looked a LOT like Fugazi fans drove by and shouted "DYKES!" at us from behind, lol. Fucking lunkheaded idiots. We were too busy doubling over and laughing our asses off to be mad about it, though.

    :)

Dang. I don't even know where to start; I never got a chance to see Fugazi live. I'm not seeing any 'top shows' or 'recommended' spots on the website. Is anyone out there ranking these things?
