Heyyyy, there's a name i haven't seen in awhile.
I saw those guys (well, guy...) at a TINY club in dallas years ago. There were probably only twenty or thirty of us.
I totally embarrassed myself by screaming at..aaron, isn't it? Anyway, screaming "ONE MORE FOR THE D-TOWN!" and shit like that at the top of my lungs.
And he was like "dude...i don't have anymore tracks to play...chill out."
I used to drink way too much.
So @Jinsai , do you get into a lot of music "like that?"
I love Boards of Canada of course, but also Squarepusher, Plaid, Broadcast, Amon Tobin...bands that i kind of lump together for their strangeness.
Edit: Oh SHIT! Listening now...the second one...that utterly insane drum and bass...that's fucking AWESOME.

Yeah, I'm all about it... also Ceephax, Wisp, Shitmat, Kid 606, Autechre, Bogdan Raczynski, Flashbulb, Mu-Ziq, Jon Hopkins, Boxcutter, Nathan Fake, Mr 76ix, Loops Haunt, Cyrus Rex, Mouse on Mars, Meat Beat Manifesto, Prefuse 73, Proem, Bong Ra, Mr Bill, Cylob, Bochum Welt, Clark, Tipper... most of the music I listen to is braindance/glitchy electronic music lately.
I'm bout it bout it too...love me some motherfucking prefuse 73.
Autechre is great.
...i also love me some Tricky. I've met tricky 3 times at shows! and once, i lit his joint...it was a HUGE fucking deal when i was 18, lolz.
you hit me with a few there that i haven't heard...gonna have to check it out.
Wow I haven't listened to VS for something like 10 years. Something about Winnipeg if I recall correctly I shall have to check this out.
maaaaaan..... I'll admit it took me a minute to get used to him singing on these songs, but goddamn this is fucking incredible. The song "My Love is a Bulldozer" is the best song I will hear this year.
Loving the new album. Definitely will get it.
Woah singing. And not just singing: operatic singing.
Glad AF is finally mixing things up and doing something different: his output has been a little samey for me lately.
That said, Koonut Kalifee is awesomeness:
just bought the song Amazon off iTunes. amazing
New album might just be his best yet.
He and Otto von Schirach are playing here in Toronto next month... definitely going to go and dance like a maniac.
Available? Gonna have to get it.
Yeah, it's been on the net for a while. Tried my best to hold out for my physical copy but just couldn't resist.
I believe you are referring to his album titled "Winnipeg is a frozen shithole"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winnipe...rozen_Shithole
Which is a 100% accurate description of Winnipeg, may I add.
I am originally from there, as he is from there as well, and confirm this place is nothing but a frozen shit-hole. They get winter from October-April and it's usually -50 in the winter months. Place is extremely crime ridden as well. Nothing good to say about Winnipeg at all.
About Venetian Snares, got some friends who are really into this kinda music, I guess it's good if you like this genre, I personally don't care for it. He opened for KMFDM in Winnipeg back in 2004 or 2005 (forget which year it was, they came twice), and I just couldn't get into his stuff. It's been 10 years since I heard it, and was told he was coming to play a show here in Vancouver on July 1st of this year. Decided to give his newer stuff a try, and while it wasn't as bad as I remember from 10 years ago, still nothing I would listen to willingly or pay to see. Not terrible music, just not my thing.
so, this new album is... great.

Venetian Snares has just released a new album on Bandcamp called Thank You for Your Consideration, to thank fans for helping him during his recent financial crisis. It's a "Pay What you Want" deal and it's pretty damn brilliant so far. Plus the album cover is awesome. Edit: Damn, this is the best stuff Aaron Funk has had out in years.

It's fantastic, and yeah, that cover art is all sorts of amazing.
The new EP, Your Face, is pretty amazing as well.
February 19th can't come soon enough. Goddamn.
