No Leaf Clover w/ Apocalyptica?
Damage, Inc. w/ Jason?
Jizzed-in-my-pants
That fan club setlist is quite unique. It seems Lars has finally relearned how to play "The Shortest Straw".
Wait...Lars can play something?
Wow, that must've been an amazing show.
believe me, i think this show was badass overall. really really cool thing to do for the fans, and so much cooll shit throughout. i just meant that Please Don't Judas Me, Sad But True, the lyrical side to Hate Train (and Lars' awul drumming) and paying FOUR Diamond Head covers at a Metallica show was kinda lame. Would you have wanted Peter Murphy to do 4 of his own songs in a row at the '09 NIN shows?
December 7th:
- To Live is to Die (World Premiere; preceded by Helpless jam)
- Enter Sandman
- Holier Than Thou
- Disposable Heroes
- Bleeding Me
- Wasting My Hate (First performance since October 15, 2004)
- My Apocalypse
- Just a Bullet Away (Unreleased song. World Premiere)
- Breadfan (Budgie cover) (Played with Metclub member Andrew Dowis)
- The Memory Remains (with Marianne Faithfull)
- Killing Time (Sweet Savage cover) (With Ray Haller of Sweet Savage)
- Turn the Page (Bob Seger cover) (with Kid Rock)
- The Four Horsemen (with John Bush) (First performance incl. first solo since 1985)
- Iced Honey (Lou Reed & Metallica cover) (with Lou Reed)
- The View (Lou Reed & Metallica cover) (with Lou Reed)
- White Light/White Heat (The Velvet Underground cover) (with Lou Reed)
- Creeping Death (with Jason Newsted)
- Battery (with Jason Newsted)
- Mercyful Fate (Mercyful Fate cover) (with Mercyful Fate)
- Seek & Destroy (With Ray Haller, Scott Ian, Jason Newstead, The Soul Rebels, John Bush, Joey Vera, Gonzo Sandoval)
Ups and downs here, but To Live Is To Die(!!!), Disposable Heroes, Breadfan, Mercyful Fate, and Creeping Death with Jason sounds pretty cool.
Third show is tonight. I'm hoping for Dead Kennedy Rolls (Unreleased St. Anger song) Fixxxer, The Small Hours, Astronomy, and it seems kiiiiind of obvious that they'll do some Motorhead with Motorhead. Or some Misfits with Danzig?

Someone tell me these shows will find their way onto some kind of release, be it through their website or something more mainstream.
This is unfair.

Damn, they're really going all out! Never would've expected them to share a stage with Mustaine ever again. Insanity!
The only song missing is Dyers Eve, imagine that after To Live Is to Die. Did they recorded an official video of these shows?
They recorded each night with audio and I do believe there is video footage

I want to add something to this thread. Metallica have rocked the universe's foundations (Master of Puppets, ...and Justice For All). Now almost everybody completely hates the Lulu project. I for one freakin' love the hell out of it. If you listen to Lulu enough you will understand the genius of this album. Never have I heard such strange lyrics and emoting. Lou Reed is insane. He definitely gives you plenty to think about. Once you play the album through a few times, the story will start coming to life. Metallica create a perfectly flawed and awesome score for this twisted play. Seriously. Lulu rules.

Musically, it's decent. Lou Reed's the one who ruined it. Since the 70s, he's figured that the incoherent rambling of his bad poetic lyrics were passable. But it's mostly his delivery that bothers me the most. He refuses to sing, and insists on "being wild", and it just doesn't work for me. Velvet Underground, a couple solo albums and I'm set. But musically, it's possibly some of the heaviest stuff I've heard from Metallica in ages.
