George A. Romero. A true legend in cinema and without him. Who knows where horror would've gone w/o Night of the Living Dead.
I think I'll watch the original 'Dead' trilogy over the next few days. I was always bummed that we never got his Resident Evil movie.
I already have tickets to see Creepshow at my local art theater this Wednesday, they're doing retro horror (35mm) showings every month, and July just happened to be Creepshow.
Always liked Romero, seemed like a cool guy!
Martin Landau of Mission: Impossible (TV show) & Ed Wood (as Bela Lugosi) at 89: http://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2017/...ndau-obituary/
Man he was such a great actor. Has anyone seen Remember? That's fairly recent and he was great in it
Fuck, what a shitty day.
I met George Romero either 7 or 8 years ago at a comic store signing in Charlotte, NC. Unfortunately by the time I got to the table, they had to start charging for autographs because there was so many people, and I didn't have any money, but photos were free. Sad thing is I can't find a copy of the photo anywhere. Could I swore I backed it up somewhere. Real nice guy. Was in line for a really long time and sleep deprived. Almost fainted when I got up from beside him after my photo because I felt so weak. He asked me I was okay, and I said I was fine and thanked him for being concerned.
I always thought the color NotLD remake from the 90's was too harshly criticized. It never bothered me.
Really sad about George Romero.
And RIP Martin Landau
Loved him in Mission:Impossible and in Space 1999. And of course, later, in Ed Wood among other things.
