Empathy Test


Empathy Test is an independent London (UK) based electronic pop band formed in January 2013 by childhood friends Isaac Howlett (vocals, songwriting) and Adam Relf (composition, production). Over the course of a year, the pair wrote, recorded and produced four original compositions, which would be self-released digitally as the Losing Touch EP in February 2014


Since Empathy Test's conception in January 2013, the London-based electronic pop act has self-produced and released threestunning albums ( Losing Touch (Remastered) (2017), Safe From Harm (2017), Monsters (2020)) and a string of memorable singles. Their "big dramatic sound that swoons ecstatically between the nostalgic and immediate" (KCRW) has won them critical acclaim, a legion of dedicated fans worldwide, and features from the likes of Vice on HBO, MTV's Catfish, Netflix, KCRW, BBC Introducing, Clash, LoBF, Earmilk, PopMatters and many more. Boy George recently described them as “a musical orgasm” via his official Twitter account.

Empathy Test released the first taste of third album, Monsters, in October 2018,in the form of a new double a-side single Holy Rivers / Incubation Song. Clash Music wrote that the new material, featuring "shimmering synths, glacial electronics, and heartrending vocals", illuminated the band's "potent creativity".

A second single, Empty Handed, was released in June 2019, to coincide with a headline UK tour. Fresh on the Net called it a "dark, anthemic electro-pop tune layered with a sense of desperation". The band also released aNorth America-only 'Best of' compilation, Just Got Hometo coincide with their first North American tour in September 2019.
