McKayla Maroney was also hacked and nude pics have leaked.
She took twitter and said the pics were fake.
She then changed her story and is now saying she was underage when she took those nudes and will sue porn websites publishing the photos.
Didn't she just incriminate herself of producing child pornography?

I'd be curious to hear answers to that. I actually suspect it is another lie to try and save face. Some of the celebs have been doing the "they are fake" thing.
That said, there are some proven fakes in there. That is another strong indicator that this is from a trading ring. Those who want in that don't have original content will spend their time fabricating images. I just can't think of any other reason for fakes to be in this sudden release.

Also, Apple apologists are some of the most infuriatingly dense people I have ever interfaced with.

I am a huge apple fan, and I know this is a bit off topic but in some ways relates to the photo scandal. Ever since Steve Jobs passing, Apple products seem to be in decline. Obviously this iCloud shit is not only confusing and infuriating, but iTunes fucking sucks I have boycott buying anything from iTunes because their quality control is shit, and their customer service for iTunes is shit. I went back to buying CDs they are cheaper and less annoying then dealing with iTunes.
Apple products seem to be in decline they use to be the trailblazers, now the rumor is that they are going to make a larger iPhone like the Samson Galaxy. Hey Apple I don't need a bigger iPhone but what would be nice is if you could make an iPhone where the fucking battery wouldn't die after one ten minute phone call and three texts.
the iCloud photo scandal doesn't surprise me and the fact that Apple doesn't seem to want to take responsibility for it doesn't shock me, either.

I was a huge Jobs fan, since the 1st Mac in the 80s, and feel the same way. I jumped ship to the Samsung Galaxy S5 about a month ago. Although I still love my iPads and iMac, I'm afraid that Apple just won't stay afloat without its Captain. Jobs would find this current event completely unacceptable.

I've been a big apple fan for the last ~7 years. I jumped on the first iPhone and have had every yearly model since then. I got a macbook pro right around the same time because they finally switched to intel chips. I quickly fell in love. But yes... things got shitty as Jobs started to close things up at Apple. 10.9 (Mavericks) has been such a shitty experience. The iTunes Match service was awesome but seems to have fallen into a state of having zero maintenance. It will take HOURS to match a new song. Whey the fuck am I paying for that!? I don't have anything too horrible to say about the iPhone environment, but I have been seriously thinking about picking up an android for my next phone (which will be purchased by Oct).

I think Apple will make it's future obvious when their "next big thing" comes out without Jobs. They haven't released any of these yet, and this has always been what makes Apple the magical company that they are (ipod, macbook, iphone, ipad, appleTV, etc). It will either be awesome, or a sad failure.

I will say that Apple's security has always been pretty horrible and their services haven't been demonstrations of excellence. They only recently rolled out some basic security into their primary OS that Windows has had for ages (for example). They have slowly improved this over the years and are at their best right now. There is still room for a LOT of improvement though.

If all else fails, they could unveil a physics defying free energy machine by attaching magnets to Steve Jobs's body and surrounding him with coils.

Spoiler: rolling/spinning in his grave, yo!

Apple’s Two Factor Authentication Doesn’t Protect iCloud Backups Or Photo Streams

    http://techcrunch.com/2014/09/02/app...photo-streams/

    And a bit that I didn't realize:
"Security researcher Vladimir Katalov (who works at Elcomsoft, imagine that) presented his findings on the iCloud protocol, including what portions of iCloud are protected by two-factor authentication, at the Hack In The Box security conference late last year — and posted about the issues as early as May of last year."

Classic Apple. The did jack shit about it. A very similar hole popped up in 2010 between Apple and AT&T by Weeve. He tried to disclose it to them, but was instead rewarded with a prosecution. Apple also has a HORRIBLE security model. There is no bug bounty program. Apple doesn't even respond to submissions when people provide them. This kind of security model encourages the kind of thing we are seeing this week.

Article on the software that was used to hack into iCloud.

    http://www.wired.com/2014/09/eppb-icloud/

"What this demonstrates is that even without explicit backdoors, law enforcement has powerful tools that might not always stay inside law enforcement,” he says. “You have to ask if you trust law enforcement. But even if you do trust law enforcement, you have to ask whether other people will get access to these tools, and how they’ll use them.”

Exactly what I've been saying about the kind of shit that can happen.

Leave it to a law "enforcement" tool to eventually be used to break the law.

the article mentions this, but just to reinforce: This isn't something Apple worked with law enforcement to build. These guys simply examined how Apple's shit works and built a tool to bypass their security. They even announced the crappy security a year ago (see my prior post). Apple didn't fix it. So, they built a tool. The primary market for a tool like this is going to be law enforcement. Script kiddies aren't exactly known to pay for their stuff, plus you'd have ethical issues selling a tool for nefarious purposes. There is also no reason someone else couldn't make a similar tool and release the source code. That's actually what happened with the iBrute password cracker for iCloud.

This is also the same type of thing the NSA does to get into a lot of your stuff. They also get some backdoor supplied by the companies too. I think the intentional backdoors are even worse. They will get utilized (which is what I think you were getting at in your post). I do worry that some of these unintentional holes are left in place for the NSA. It gives Apple some plausible deniability. There was heavy suspicion of this recently with the "double goto fail" bug that cause all Apple products to never validate the certificate on an SSL connection.

So any symbolic mouse head Disney has exclusive rights to the trademark? It will be interesting to see how this plays out in court. I'm not a Disney fan at all, nor do I believe in god, but the great satan lives in the land of Disney. Fuck Disney!

So it's no secret that a lot of Toronto media outlets like to catch Rob Ford doing something questionable and making "news" out of it.

Ever since reporting that Ford was gonna meet with Mike Tyson they have been going out of their way to state that Tyson is in fact a convicted rapist... excessively so.

Anyhow local news tool Nathan Downer did not disappoint during a live interview.

Watch Tyson call this idiot out.

Don't mention that shit to Tyson. Plus, I think he was wrongly convicted of that rape charge based on what he had been telling as I think he is telling the truth.

And that Ford said he was cut from the same cloth as Tyson... I wouldn't want to say I was cut from the same cloth as a convicted rapist...

It's no secret that a lot of other outlets report everything he does as heroic and/or entertaining, even the homophobic or racist remarks and clear conflict-of-interest violations of the public trust. We need to stop the fixation on him and move on.

I'd say Tyson assaults women, and was indeed convicted of rape, but not to the point of being excessive about it. Maybe remind him of that every day for the rest of his life, but, y'know, not on TV or anything.

It's weird: you substitute Bieber for Morello and of course you would see a headline like this. But Tom? I don't want to believe it, but...

Hmmm... i know i called him a douchebag at first without really knowing the full story... suppose I'll give him the benefit of the doubt i guess?....

In his situation with the doorman as he tells it i could see something like that being irritating, afterward with the twitter stuff i mean we're all human.. we all do knee-jerk shit without thinking it through. We've all stressed out over things we shouldn't.

I've never been to Seattle or that cafe/bar, don't know any of these people so i can't speak to the credibility of the manager or anyone that works there. Likewise Tom's a celebrity and can say and act any way he wants to, i don't know the guy.

So I'm just gonna hope for the best and that they both can move on from this regardless of whoever's at fault.
