Anyone who has movie/video footage in common with NIN, shares a first and last name with David Bowie, and got covered by The Sex Pistols is cool enough for me.

In fact, I loved the re-runs of his TV so much as a kid that my mom took me to see The Monkees reunion at Six Flags when I was in the 4th grade, my first concert ever!

Obviously a looooooongtime habit of mine this guy officially kicked off. Bummer, I was still hoping to bootleg him with The Monkees someday and pay tribute again.

Yup, SHOCK OF THE CENTURY, people DO occasionally get old sometimes.

    Sure beats the alternative!

Just close your eyes, think about the L.A. Story days, and work through it, man...

    Larry David: life imitates art.

That really does look like something straight out of a Curb episode.

That will totally suck. I love the Bee Gees! I don't care what anyone says. They were a great group. It's not just the disco stuff that was great. The songs they did in the 60s and early 70s are true standards of pop. If he's going to go, at least there's Maurice and Andy. Soon, Barry will get a chance to join them for the ultimate Bee Gees reunion in the sky.

Dammit, he's the one guy in the Band that I love. Much more than the so overrated Robbie Robertson.

I almost entirely remembered him from Bandstand, since I watched it EVERY Saturday for my entire life until it went off the air.

But when I watched a tribute, tonight, I'd completely forgotten about the "$10,000 Pyramid" show. Back then, ten grand was evidently a lot of money.

Anyway, my entire childhood died with Dick Clark.

He was innovative and a LOT of musical artists owe their respective careers to him. Godspeed, Mr. Clark. I'll miss you forever.

Damn... I'm going to watch The Last Waltz tonight. The Band was such a musical force, and The Last Waltz shows just how much influence they had. That clip of The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down I posted above is so fucking powerful! The show apparently went on for hours, not all of it was recorded, because the crowd WOULDN'T LET THEM LEAVE! So they stayed, and they played, and if I had a time machine and could go to one show I'd say "fuck Woodstock, go to hell Beatles on a roof, suck a dick Nirvana unplugged, I'm seein' The BAND!".

Oh, and in unrelated celebrity news, Mel Gibson is still a crazy person.

Tragic, fucking cancer. Guy was a true talent.

The only up side is that celebrities die in threes, we're down one Levon and one Yauch, so here's hoping Chad Kroeger is next.
