I saw some parts of it - was busy entertaining a guest - and I've gotta say, his vocals sounded way way better when I saw him in the weeks preceding, and I'm not the only one. I think the tour's starting to show its wear on him.

He can still shred the fuck out of a solo though.

-Apparently the stream hit about 1.1 million views at least, and it was the number one trending item on Twitter for a little while

-Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts) will drop Sept. 13:

I saw the Pumpkins show in St. Paul last Sunday and I have to say that they sounded GREAT. Even Billy's voice (which he's struggled with in recent years) sounded pretty damn good. There were definitely some bizarre things like the Mark McGrath videos and the monks pushing around the Billy/Zero statue thing that I honestly could have done without (my wife was giving me some "WTF is that about?" looks), but the songs are what truly matter and that setlist was fantastic. While I do agree that I could have done without a few of the covers – Baby Mine and Stairway to Heaven in particular (I personally like Landslide and Space Oddity) – in exchange for songs like I am One, Perfect, or Geek USA, though it's hard to complain when they play a set that's over 3 hours. Seeing Billy, James, and Jimmy play so many of my favorite songs together was honestly a dream come true for me, as I never got the chance to see the original lineup before their breakup in 2000. I was grinning ear-to-ear for much of the show and there were even a few moments that gave me goosebumps (Disarm, For Martha, Porcelina, Soma, Mayonaise). Even Solara sounded great; its so much better live than the studio version. As for the production, it's definitely among of the top 10 most impressive shows I've seen (which would also include NIN, Tool, Metallica, Ghost, Iron Maiden, Green Day, Tom Petty). I kinda wish they hadn't put seats on the floor because it did make the crowd lame, but I must admit that it was nice to not have drunken assholes bumping into me constantly and actually have my own bubble of space. We had decent seats (row 19 in the center on the floor), so we had a pretty perfect view of the stage. I'd honestly pay to go again, it was a phenomenal show!

    He replied to me:

I wonder if he means new works from Vasily Kafanov or what. I'm not surprised though.

    Edit: Nope:

On another SP forum, someone mentioned about assembling their own album from only SP2.0 material aka tracks from Zeitgeist, Teargarden, Oceania, Monuments To An Elegy, etc. The idea was if Billy was finally returning as the Pumpkins now and took the best of the material he had written during that time and what that album would look like.

    My SP 2.0 album...

The Zeitgeist Of Oceania, An Elegy By Kaleidyscope

    01 Superchrist
    02 Doomsday Clock
    03 The Fellowship
    04 Quasar
    05 Astral Planes
    06 Monuments
    07 Panopticon
    08 United States
    09 Inkless
    10 Tarantula
    11 One And All
    12 Pale Horse
    13 Bleeding The Orchid
    14 Tiberius

I think it works quite well and actually flows nicely. Give it a chance.I wanted the tracks to work musically and lyrically. I actually could listen to this playlist over the individual albums themselves.

Saw SP last night for night 1 at The Forum. Second time overall. Solid set. Heard many of my faves I didn't get last time <3

Metric were awesome, hoping they get to tour again soon and do smaller venues. The Forum is too big for a modest setup.

My SP 2.0 best-of would probably go something like:

    Song For A Son
    99 Floors
    The Panopticon
    Tarantula
    As Rome Burns
    The Rose March
    Glissandra
    Tom Tom
    Stellar
    Neverlost
    Ma Belle
    No Surrender
    Gossamer
    Zeitgeist

Bill's not off the mark when he says a lot of his later works are overlooked. There's plenty of great stuff.

True, it's just that the wrong guys are playing on them... some of the stuff would be killer with jimmy/james, tho jeff ain't a bad player

Just announced, they're doing a 30th anniversary show at the Aragon on Friday November 30th. That should be awesome...no seats!

Yeah, that Calgary show kicked ass top to bottom. I lost my voice singing along and it was all worth it in the end.

I'm glad they're ditching the idea of splitting these 8 new tracks up intro two 4-track EPs, but I wish they would have recorded a full 12-16 songs MEANT to be released as an album, rather than a "mix tape" of songs in the vein of Pisces Iscariot. Still, I'm excited to hear these aforementioned 8 new tracks and I hope they're up to snuff. They need to at least be able to hang with Oceania, which in my opinion is the absolute pinnacle of SPv2.0.

New single drops this week. If it's as bad as Solara, I don't think you're gonna get your new Oceania. The production ruins Solara. They need someone who can give them an edge.

Yeah, I really wish they'd get Flood and Alan Moulder back. I don't dislike Solara like most here seem to (I think it's decent for a single), but I don't think Rick Rubin is right for them.

I just feel that after some time with Solara, they figured out how to jazz it up better live. I wish James woulda recorded those solos...

Rick was a good fit for Bill's solo work, but I'm gonna need to hear something not written during the MTAE/DFN period to really judge where they're going and how well he suits SP. I think James did have parts on the recorded version but if so they're reeeal low in the mix.

Silvery Sometimes drops Friday. 15 second preview on Facebook and I am pretty damn hyped. This sounds like something James had a hand in, Cure-ish!

15 second preview... on the fence. Sounds kinda like Billy is going after 1979. Wait and see how the rest of the track sounds for a proper response. I ain't jumping up and down with glee.

Yeahhhhh definitely (so far) sounds like 1979 2.0. Was hoping they would come out of the gate swinging a little harder.

BBC Radio 6Music just played it, sounded alright. Much better than hearing the horrible Solara every other day, lots more chilled.

Needs a bigger chorus but I'll be damned if this isn't one of the more solid tracks in a very, very long time.

With solara in tow, what this is kind of sounding like to me is a band that's learning to collaborate and work together again and find a new chemistry.

Prolly not up in NA yet. Oh well. Inbox is open.

    Flare like a rocket
    Torch like a dying sun
    Snap like a dragon
    Dive like a pelican

    Kingdoms of my kingdom come

    Skip like a prophet
    Spit like a poet’s gun
And say "How long can this go on?"

    Stumbling before you speak

Stunning, and stunning, and stunning the black
    With sun turned cold
It would seek out all your hopes which are signals
    That must mean most

    We’re in the middle,
    We’re in the middle, ghosts

    Rule like a tyrant
    Make like a valentine
    Cheer like a siren
    Soak like a sunken mind

    Kingdoms of my kingdom come
    It’s all but one song

    Row like a felon
    Drown like a captain's son
And say "How long can this go on?"

    We’re in the middle,
    We’re in the middle, ghosts

    Stumbling before you speak

Stunning and stunning, with cannons to lead
    In tigers’ tide
We scan the fields, someone dies tonight
It’s tragic, but at least it’s not you

    We’re in the middle,
    We’re in the middle, ghosts

I think it's fine, not blown away, not overly terrible like previous releases.
