This is truly the best shit she's ever made. This album is better than Jay Z's new album in nearly every possible way. Still digesting the album since I've only had it for the past 24 hours, but this could easily have swooped in to be one of the best albums of the year at the zero hour. Haunted is goddamn remarkable. That Ghost intro gives me chills. Pretty in awe over how awesome this album is.
It's really really great
Can't agree more. And the entire thing is just so meaningful and feminist. The videos are killer too. The one for 'Mine' is my favorite. You can tell her and her people are actually interested in the modern dance world which I appreciate because my sister is a contemporary dancer.

I definitely think this album nails it. Then again, I don't think any of the preceding albums are less than 3 out of 5 stars. The videos sell it all even further and I hope the industry takes note. "Haunted" reminds me so much of Madonna's "Bedtime Stories" video, one of my all time favorites. I love the trappy-sparse-minimal arrangements in the majority of the tracks. "Rocket" is beautifully crafted, provocative. @littlemonkey613 - spot on observation on "Mine." I am not a Drake fan but I don't mind him here at all. The reworking of "***Flawless" (originally released as "Bow Down/I Been On" is really good - aided by Adichie's spoken word. She drips sex appeal in every track, but unlike some overexposed strumpets, she can really sing. Great album and video package overall. Quite possibly one of the best R&B albums of the year in spite of the lateness.
goddamn it. we had an hbo free preview last weekend and i missed lemonade. it was on over and over again and i never bothered to read the info on the screen.
the album is getting insane reviews. i don't use itunes anymore, tidal tells me i'm ineligible for a free preview, and i haven't downloaded a torrent in years. fuck, i really want to hear it.
Yes...of all people, BEYONCE is the true artist we need to push music forward. ::biggest eyeroll of all time::
Wow. Just listened to the iTunes preview. I'm impressed. Change and growth as an artist has to be respected.
whoa.
i downloaded it (thank god utorrent is easy to use), but i'll be buying the cd when it comes out on the 6th.
it's a start-to-finish headphones experience for sure, and the first beyonce album i've given that kind of attention. it really deserves it.
I can't wait for the CD.
In the meantime get yourself a copy of Beyoncé (2013) it is seriously awesome
Also: can we get an acute accent on the title of this thread k thnkz plz
Stop bumping and delete thread plz.
Stop being haters.
I love this album because you see so much of her Louisiana and Texas roots, especially the visual version of the album.
This is a good piece written by Janet Mock.
Wow that was fast
Love me some Partition

I love 'Daddy Lessons'.
I loved Destiny's Child
But Crazy In Love, with Jay-Z, not so much: I don't generally like his guest vocals on a female artist's track, it's like he's trying to put his stamp of possession on it, and I've never been OK with that "99 Problems but a bitch ain't one" lyric.
But I loved her 2013 album, and I'm waiting for the right moment to rediscover her solo output 2003-2011: maybe this summer!
Anyway.
"Freedom", the new track with Kendrick Lamar, is fucking lit.
So, this album is incredible. LOL at those haters upthread.
I'm trying to figure out why Beyonce is even a divisive figure. She made incredible pop and LEMONADE is a fully formed adult piece of art, a story about black southern womanhood.

damn. i love this record. "hold up" (the syncopated beat is the tits), "love drought" (closest song to straight up r&b), and "sandcastles" (fucking heartbreaking) are probably my favorites, but i'm still not skipping tracks.

Gonna make it a point to finally watch this either tonight or tomorrow!
Only track I typically skip is Daddy Lessons, everything else is so unbelievably on-point. ESPECIALLY Freedom. Good god, that track is phenomenal. When Bey put out her last album I thought she'd probably never top that one, but she definitely topped it.
I might be the only one who prefers the S/T to this. Don't get me wrong this album is good, but man I just don't think musically it is going to get much cooler than the last album. Perhaps I just can't listen to this album without yawning over how it is the biggest publicity stunt. If it wasn't for that maybe I'd dig it a lot more than the self titled.
