    Better late than never!

My record came today as it should have. Both records were poking out of the gatefold and has torn through the sleeves inside and caused nasty seam splits. I'm sick of the post office by this point.

Anyways, here's photos of my Opaque Pink copy.

Minus the title track, that's my favorite Sunbather song. Also in the top 5 of their tracks. From 5 minutes in to 9 minute mark is amazing.

    UNO! DOS! TRES! CATORCE!

Joking aside, I finally got around to listening to this tonight and impressions on first listen are that it's really good. It sounds less angry and violent as New Bermuda, and is really sad and pretty sounding. I really love the addition of some of the clean vocals. Also, I'd say a lot of the clean guitars on this album ended up being better than most of the distorted guitars. So far, two thumbd up. Too early to tell if I like it better than any of their other albums yet.

I listened to it enough to rule. I like it more than New Bermuda (but unlike most I really like that album) but not as much as Sunbather (duh).

Worthless Animal is my favorite song on the album followed by Glint and then Canary Yellow.

Worthless Animal from 4:15 to 5:00 is something else.

Got back about an hour ago. Crazy good show and actually better than last year when I seen them somehow. The energy was high at this show by both the crowd and the band.

Dream House was a chant that started during the encore. George joke threatened "is that what you want?" The performance of it was straight fire and and during a portion George leapt out into the crowd and they carried him around for a bit. It was wild!

I'll upload some terrible photos and a video or two tomorrow I got.

For those curious, none of the bands had shirts with dates for the tour. I passed but bought that pink Sunbather pin I was eying on their hello merch store and a logo patch for my vest.

Drab Majesty and Uniform were great also. Both bands were well received by the audience too and I'm glad.

Have my shitty photos of the show here!

I wasn't glued to my phone all night and these aren't my best shots but oh well. I recorded a snippet of Canary Yellow, Sunbather, Worthless Animal and MOST of From the Kettle Onto the Coil (a phone call ended the recording abruptly )

I'll upload the video to YouTube this weekend and post it just because I like sharing.

End was cut off by abrupt phone call. I'm still mad about it.

Had the immense pleasure of seeing these guys perform in Richmond last Friday. First and foremost, Honeycomb and Canary Yellow and You Without End translate very well live and overall the setlist is solid (I still can't get into Worthless Animal). Deafheaven put on a fantastic show and I will happily see them again next time they come around, and if it weren't for work obligations I would have driven up to DC on Saturday to see them perform again. Ordinary Corrupt Human Love is slowly growing on me. The first three tracks are perfection and seeing them live helped me appreciate them more. Glint is also a damn good song and the strongest on the latter half of the album. But I completely lose interest when Night People and Worthless Animal close out the album, and Near just feels like filler.

The more i listen to OCHL, the more i really enjoy it... Especially Canary Yellow and Glint...

    Controversial i'm sure, but:

    1 New Bermuda
    2 OCHL
    3 Sunbather
    4 Roads to Judah

Also, i'm a casual listener to Chelsea Wolfe, but man... Night People is so beautiful because of her. Especially the final verse... I should study her output more..

it's the only song on the new album that i loved. the rest of it didn't do much for me (but it was still better than new bermuda).

Had a great time seeing Drab Majesty + DFHVN tonight. Nice mixed set compared to the previous 2 times seeing them. First time they played all of Sunbather, 2nd all of New Bermuda. Always an incredible experience. Wasn't expecting all of OCHL (No Chelsea Wolfe obvs) but From The Kettle was a nice touch. If you haven't seen them live yet DO IT!
