I've known some of the biggest and brightest computer nerds in the business (I'm not gonna name drop) for over 30 years, some who have patents, and some who have stuff in the Smithsonian, who aren't rich from it but who do get asked for autographs and who are in documentaries. Being known in computer geek circles doesn't necessarily mean "famous" or "rich" by any stretch of the imagination. These people do what they love which is also their hobby, but it's a realistic hobby and passion. Not the same as "I'm gonna make a million bucks uploading videos of me puking cinnamon."
