Enjoying Mindhunter so far. I'm at episode 3. Good show. It's best when it's NOT binged and you take your time with it.

So now I kinda wish the version of "beginning is the end" that landed on Year Zero was a tad more bombastic. And wait.. is that Joel Kinnaman basically playing Robocop again?

I am watching "A Futile and Stupid Gesture" about the National Lampoon magazine and for fans of the original SNL cast it has actors portraying Gilda Radner, John Belushi, Chevy Chase, and Bill Murray. I have always found this era of comedy interesting. Half way through until I got a phone call.

Just watched it this morning... I thought it was well done. Joel McHale as Chevy was a killer move.

A Series Of Unfortunate Events will be 3 seasons, which makes sense seeing the number of books they cover per season.

Nope. Just finished it. It’s awful. They shoehorn in a lame connection at the end and the rest is somewhat of an Event Horizon rip-off

sarah and i loved it, and knowing what you generally like, i think you'll enjoy it. it's not THE BEST movie ever, by any means, but it's fun. i think people are miffed because 10 cloverfield lane was so fucking amazing that having this follow it was a bit of a let down, but that doesn't make it a bad movie.

last night I watched Blue Ruin, definitely worth a watch if you want a low-key, intense, and haunting indie thriller
I found it very well shot, acted, and edited

Great film. An earlier movie done by Jeremy Saulnier, who two years later put out the super badass Green Room.

I watched Green Room last night: very well made and gripping, a little intense and gruesome for me.

I also liked I Don't Feel At Home In This World Anymore: I think Saulnier and Macon Blair are guys to watch, for fans of Tarantino/Coen Bros/David Lynch/Harmony Korine that kind of stuff.

"Dirty Money" is an excellent series. Tip of the iceberg. I'm up to the maple syrup episode. Looks like they left the Donald for last. Scott Tucker sure seems like a scumbag. How about VW being touchy about testing emissions on humans. Wow. The optics on that are how you say pretty bad. Hopefully this series will make some people wake up. Local news for me, Amazon just had big layoff. & they are supposedly 1 of the more sucessful corporations. I think the initial smoke screen for the tax cut for the rich & corporations is dissipating. They are going to put out a bunch more pictures of smiling faces so we know its all ok. Also saw an article about how our buds the Koch brothers are trying to fight against paid sick leave. Strange & bad times we live in. Off to my own piece of corporate hell now....I'm a ghost in the machine.
