haven't seen it since i was a kid, but that's definitely some trademark 80s TD.

It sounds like they had sex with Giorgio Moroder and gave birth to Windham Hill.

Roxy Music got a lot of shit for Avalon when it came out. Eventually people grew to appreciate "Avalon" and "More Than This" but it still ain't up there among Roxy's highest achievements, maybe because it was too 80s? I dunno, I was drunk at the time. Free liquor at the door.

that scene blew my mind when i was 12 (late night tv without parental supervision). also, i blame this & christine for my constant obsession with synths.

I'm really obsessed with this song. It's made me a hell of a lot more excited for a full HTDA release.

Spoiler: The track does run over the credits, and is simply beautiful when it is filling a room. It's cranked up at the crescendo and completely engulfs the room. I saw people who were leaving stay still when it reached the peak, just because it was that good. Also, it might just be my ears, but I think the intro to the song was slightly different in the end credits.

Yes, Spoiler: I couldn't hear very well because people were leaving noisily but the intro to the end-credits version sounded like it started with very distant-sounding Mariqueen vocals drenched in reverb (not unlike they way they appear in the instrumental score), gradually growing in volume and presence until filling the room. Very effective choice for the film.

Spoiler: That's what it sounded like to me too; couldn't hear it well enough to tell if it was something else from the score kinda mixed in there for effect or an actual different version

Listened to it several times now.
    An excellent cover (DM clone).
If Trent wasn't involved, I wouldn't listen to it.
What can you expect from a horrible original like that?
They did a great job making it as it is now!

Hope the next HTDA will be more extreme...

I abosolutely and excited for all things HTDA to come.
I cant wait to see what more they have in store for us.
This song has been stuck in my head since my first listen. I wasnt a fan of the original so I am a bit Biased.
Id love to see the Ross side of this whole project. Atticus is a complete genius in my eyes.

Wow, this was a great surprise at the end of the soundtrack! Easily better than anything on the debut EP. I wasn't too familiar with the original, although I did see "Legend" a long time ago. It doesn't sound too 80s or dated, and I'd say overall a better version than the original (unlike "Zoo Station", which unfortunately didn't quite match U2's original).

This makes me excited for more HTDA. It would be great if they embraced a more traditional melodic approach. The debut EP was darker and more experimental, but it felt awkward and a little recycled. This track has completely redeemed them in my eyes.

AGREED. I am not a huge fan of U2 besides Joshua Tree, but I completely hated "Zoo Station". Not even the Trenticuss could make it better.
I am mostly hoping for some great beats and vocals from this project. Something totally funky and dancable!

I really like this cover and it's been stuck in my head today. If the new HTDA is anything like this I will be very pleased, this is simply gorgeous stuff! Mariqueen's vocals are definitely stronger, what a difference from the EP. At first I didn't recognize it as her singing and thought it was someone else.

    It's the last song.
When I imported into iTunes, it separated the two cover songs into a different album. Not sure if that's what is going on for you.

What do you guys think the BPM of this song is? My guess is 148 but I'm not sure. I'm not great at finding BPMs.

The BPM is set on Phil Collins.

The same site reported the band's original EP. Big fail.

Has anyone got a pirated copy of the film yet, to see if the song really is different at the end, or if it's just a few of us were drunk?

No, it does sound a bit "tinny" at the beginning of the end credits before Mariqueen's vocals come in full.
