    A-Z of Bands/Artists/Etc.

Jon's original post is here, but he isn't active enough to keep it up to date. Thanks Jon for starting this up! I'm prepared to give it a go. Mods, would you be prepared to pin?

I'm gradually re-ordering things so it's sorted more Library-style (Brian Eno under E, Gary Numan under N, that sort-of thing)

nice work in progress so far! thanks for doing this. there's a few more miscellaneous threads worth listing (coldwave/post-punk, synthpop, jangle, etc.) but i assume it's all coming soon.

    I support this thread!

I made a Down thread awhile ago that needs to be here. I'm sure there's a lot more since the initial post that hasn't been put on tabs.

I'm still quietly adding things but I haven't sat down and done a fullblown sort re-order. I might manage that tomorrow.

KMFDM Thread needs to be added, it was recently bumped so depending on when you see this it may still be on the first page of the musical revolution.

Also, I support this being Pinned to the top again.

Thanks, KMFDM added (and many more). In general, I'll add stuff people mention here or that I notice on the front page of the sub-forum, when I check.

    Finally finished reordering everything.

I'll try (once) pinging a mod for a pin. @Leviathant - would you be prepared to do it?

There's only one thread I've ever started and it's a band I'm enamored with so I'd hope to get this one added:

Hi, sorry I was on Honeymoon. Catching up now I'm "liking" posts here to mark when I've finished copying all the links in. I'll scan over the rest of the forum this aft.

I haven't made my mind up whether to try and keep up with general/genre threads or not, yet.

I can't believe that I stopped doing this, but I actually thought it would be nice to post the band's Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube accounts on the first post of the thread of the band along with any top-notch fan-sites/news-sites that might be following the said bands. Oh yes, and their Wikipedia or Wiki page as well.

And to be sure I made myself clear, I don't mean this thread. I'm referring to the threads of the actual bands on their first posts. I just thought it would be like any additional help to those that want to learn more about the bands and their fan-bases outside of ETS, while having the first page as the "go-to" for that information.

I've always thought that the Vanilla Ice thread would've survived, or would've had a much better chance at surviving if it didn't include the "-Real Motherfucking Hip Hop" part in the thread title. It also seems like the Beastie Boys and Eminem are the most acceptable white rappers from the mainstream to discuss here. (But even so, I'd like to see what people dislike/hate about the other ones, and have always thought they'd make for interesting conversations.)

Vanilla Ice... which probably shouldn't have had the words "-Real Motherfucking Hip Hop" included in the thread title.

So... perhaps this thread title could serve as a reminder/example on how not to present a thread title? And but of course, there shouldn't have been any trolling to start with.

i'm not sure the vanilla ice thread would have fared well regardless of the title. no big deal if you like him or not, but that guy was a punchline from day one.

And for some reason that fascinates me. And yes, I'm well aware that he's just one of those topics that don't do well in any discussion board, or even in any discussion in real life. And yeah, the shit really hit the fan when Mind Blowin' came out in 1994 and he just dropped off the face of the Earth. Heck, I think that his popularity started declining in 1993.

And despite being a punchline, he still seemed to be loved for the most part around in the Too the Extreme era from 1990-1992 from the looks of it, that is aside from the controversies connected to him sampling Queen and David Bowie's Under Pressure without giving them any credit whatsoever on Ice Ice Baby. I didn't really get any of his albums though, but had a friend in high school at the time that had copies of Hard to Swallow and Bi-Polar on him.
