That's also exactly what I was thinking, as I've gotten used to expecting new albums to become released after the previous albums ages or at least after June. Then again, with The Downward Spiral, With Teeth, Year Zero and Ghosts I-IV coming out before way before June, that might not be so far fetched either. (I'm also going by physical release dates, but I'm also aware as to how The Slip can count as well.) I was even a bit surprised that there were many questions of a new album coming out even before Hesitation Marks turned 2 full years old, but I can sort of understand that in some ways when considering the With Teeth-The Slip run.

Then again, that wouldn't be so bad, even if it would be nicer to have an earlier release date as Hesitation Marks would only be 3 years old at the most, which is still very early when compared to the typical 4-5 year gap anyway.

But Trent would never troll us like that, would he?

I'm drawing a blank right now, but there was an edited picture of a smiling Trent from the MTV clip saying something like, "I told them that the album was coming out in the summer, but I didn't say which summer." Your question just reminded me of that.
