Saw Prophets of Rage the other night in STL.
DOPE
got this tomorrow:
and I think I have a free +1 if anyone is interested. PM me if so. Then I got this on Saturday:
And here is my full review of last night's Kraftwerk show: http://thevoidgoround.blogspot.com/2...gy-centre.html
I wanted to post some photos and a video but an attempt to copy it into my laptop didn't go so well. Then again, it wasn't my phone that I was using. It was my mother's and I don't use smartphones.
Russian Circles tonight in Chicago At the Metro.
Later this month:
Motion City Soundtrack at the Riviera
Stabbing Westward at the Doubble Door
The Faint at the Metro
Saw Nu-Metal legends Dope on Monday night, at a bar in a strip mall. Maybe 125 people there. This band has lyrics so cheesy they would make Hinder and Three Days Grace cringe, and slightly generic music, but they are a guilty pleasure of mine . Ive seen this band open for Coal Chamber in '99, open for Mushroomhead twice, and by them selfs at least 3 times, but this performance was more live than anything ive seen them do in the past. Anyways, here is my boot...
Not really a "concert" but Henry Rollins' is doing a spoken word date here in Sioux Falls in November, so ill be hitting up that too.

Saw Slipknot last night. Seventh time I've seen them and they killed it as usual. They played Skin Ticket of the Iowa album and I never thought I would get to see that one.

So, my recorder had another file write error during the Henry Rollins show I went to, fucking bummer. So I only ended up getting the last 17 minutes and its a tough listen, (low volume coupled with lots of crowd noise,) so im going to have to re-think my recording strategy next time I tape something like this.
Anyways, I did some digging on Tascam's website and turns out that while my recorder is on software version 1.01, the most current version is 2.11. I downloaded and installed the update, and now im just running the thing in my apartment trying to duplicate the error. So far nothing (the patch notes say there has been multiple instances where the various updates have "Operation reliability has been improved." ) So lets hope this fixes whatever the problem was.
Anyways, ive got 2 upcoming shows in January. In continuing with my "NÜ-METAL MASSACRE" (that comes from a mix tape I made when I was 16) bootleg series, ill be seeing Orgy and Powerman 5000 on the 4th, and later that week, I get to see one of my favorite rap acts again, Aesop Rock. Pretty psyched for this (assuming my recorder wants to cooperate!)
Sorry for the back to back posts, but just announced Testament with Sepultura and Prong are playing here May 9th! Ill be hitting that up for sure
Just waiting to see if a friend is free to go to Charlotte Church's Late Night Pop Dungeon in Cardiff. She covers all sorts of nineties pop (and Closer sometimes)
bon iver and polica blew off my face on friday. bon iver was flat out fucking amazing. if you have a chance to see him touring for this album dont miss it. seriously considering seeing him again if i can grab a last minute ticket for tomorrow night in BK.
dishing out the cash this week between at the drive in, rammstein, decemberists, and billy joel. i like to keep it eclectic, lol.

Just got my ticket to see Slowdive at The Vic on May 3rd!
Saw them in 2014 and it was amazing. Looking forward to hopefully hearing new songs this time.
Napalm Death and Brujeria are touring together in Europe. I would LOVE to see that tour. Wish they were touring together in the US as well.
See Architects.
i know! I just saw Periphery but I have some friends going to that, whereas I think I'd be flying solo to Architects. What to do, what to do!
Going to the Tibet House benefit concert again this year.
https://tibethouse.us/event/benefit-concert/
We went last year and it was really cool. Most of the acts only play a few songs, or it would be a loooooong night. But it was very fun, and I'm excited to go! Plus, I just fucking love Carnegie Hall.
Not really a concert, but going to some weird show/conversation/play(?) put on by Masha Alyokhina from Pussy Riot.

6/9 Deftones/Rise Against at Huntington Bank Pavilion
Fuckkkkkkk! Just announced 3 band bill.
