Midnight PST? Damn, that's late. Or is that normal, considering? I'm not familiar with how Coachella does things.

Ooof, it's certainly late for anyone on the east coast. I'd rather be sipping my tea at 8:00 in England than pulling a virtual all-nighter to catch this at 3:00 here in the States. Ow.

Seems the best way to rip is with VLC from what I've read online, do we have anyone gonna do this or shall we all try our own methods?

It almost certainly will. My problem with that statement is the almost.

Plus, ETS not ripping a livestream? What is this madness?

Everyone's got iPads and forgot how to really abuse computers these days. I couldn't believe no one was ripping the audio from comesforthinthethaw.com, and that I had to fucking do it myself. (Except later I found out there was someone else doing it.) Lesson? If you want something done right, do it yourself.

I'm going to try it with VLC, but I'm tempted to run hypercam just because I KNOW that works.

'course, it'll all probably be uploaded, but there's always the risk of it being a director's cut.

I'm going to rip the livestream if I'm at home. At least it's Saturday morning here, so I wouldn't have to stay up all night for one hour (?) set.

I usually try to rip audio with AudioJack and it usually works fine. So I'm going to try that tomorrow night.

Yes! Got my alarm set but staying up now to reduce my Tequila/JD hangover. Watching Jake Bugg stream right now to ease into sleep mode.

I've got a working rip of the 1080 stream using vlc. I tested it out on Lee Scratch Perry. ~30MB/min is a reasonable file size for a 1080 stream, right?

Edit 1: I'm in the US and I have no buffering issues at all. Also, the stream is running on a playlist that does 4-5s segments, so one could in theory start at just about any place in the stream.

FLAC rip is meaningless as Youtube isn't a lossless stream...

FYI, there's no point in a making a flac rip since the audio is already in a lossy format. The audio is mp4a with a bit rate of 253.4kbps (for the 1080 stream); the best bit is just to rip the audio from the video stream without transcoding it.

Trying and failing to rip with vlc (noob at this sort of thing!). While having to listen to the awful Beach House. Thank god for the mute button....hopefully Cynicmuse'll come good...

Weirdly, actually dreamt about trying to record the stream....at least there's no buffering in the UK. Right, where's my cuppa....

Damn, I'm really pumped for this stream. Gonna have this bad boy full-screened on the HDTV, with my headphones plugged in so that it can be as loud as I want without waking up my roommates. 3 a.m. can't roll around fast enough.
