The guy thats sings is such a fukken toolburger!
Is anyone aware of lyrics officially posted anywhere?
I though Apple Music might have included them but I think they draw from Genius Lyrics which is crowdsourced. The lyrics for Feathers looks funky.

I believe that if the artist provides lyrics, they'll be correct/official, but if that's not the case (like this instance), then you're right about them being sourced from Genius. Although, they (Apple) supposedly hired a team of "lyrics curators" to work on that too. (Can you imagine if that was your job?)
This isn't true at all. If you're talking about the occasional backing track, sure, but bands almost always perform legitimately on talk shows these days. Look at the Chili Peppers - when the NFL told them the instruments had to be pre-taped for the Super Bowl, they had a hard time agreeing to it as it was something they had never done before. That wouldn't be the case if it was something that happened all the time. Moreover, for how little the NFL cares about a genuine musical performance, even they let the vocals be live.
Yes, a lot of Europe ones are. I don't think most US talk show performances are pre-recorded or have mostly pre-recorded elements. For one, if they did, they should theoretically sound a hell of a lot better than they usually do. We probably all remember Ashlee Simpson's lip synch snafu on SNL some years back but I really think that's the exception to the rule.
Make sure we’re differentiating between prerecorded as in recorded before the show aired or back tracks as in not played during the performance.
Almost all shows are prerecorded. Few of them in the us exclusively use backing tracks.

^^ Are we really still talking about that?
I know I’m repeating myself but agreed- there was no way in hell Maynard was singing on those YT clips a saw. There was never even a clear shot of his mouth, so whoever was in charge of directing was given instructions.
Their previous Kimmel appearance, 2011?, with Weak and Powerless seemed natural- if one wants to compare.
I am still taking my time to digest Eat The Elephant. So many people had quick/strong opinions, but it seems like a real grower of an album. Here are some thoughts:
-Loving the arrangements on By And Down The River and Feathers.
-Perplexed by the decision to lead off with the the self-titled track.
-The songs seem to get stronger and stronger as the record goes on. First couple of tunes are a bit of a mess (clunky, somewhat lacking direction/hooks, etc.).
-TalkTalk is fucking amazing. Literally a perfect song for APC in the year 2018. Totally knocked every facet of it out of the park. Should have been the first "single" for sure.
-MJK can still sing his ass off. Obviously he's not going to be screaming much now that he's a literal senior citizen, but his tone/pitch/register haven't lost a step.
Does anyone else get While I'm Still Here/Black Noise vibe from Get the Lead Out?
100%.....also agree this album is definitely a grower. yes, it doesnt have any of the real heavy/intense moments of past efforts but maynard sounds as good as ever, he really shines on this record. ive also seen the lyrics get bagged on pretty hard here, but i think (a few overly heavy handed moments aside) theres some really thought provoking/humorous content.
Chiming back in (yes, we're still talking about it). Can confirm that the vast majority of late night performances in the US these days are LIVE. 100%, everyone is playing. In the rare instance that they're not, the tracks are usually still pre-recorded from a live session just prior to the show; not straight tracks taken from the album sessions.
Son of a bitch...I want this soooo bad.

This is why this band should not be booking arenas:

Geez, and those are smaller arenas, too. Personally I don’t think they have the kind of show that lends itself to an arena setting, they’d be way better off booking theatres. Their material fits the intimacy of a smaller venue far better.
Whyyyyy??? This seems a tad silly. If this was the farewell interview then maybe but still. $50?

Wes Borland is going to be opening for them for the next two upcoming shows. That should be pretty sweet.
I love APC but unless you’re like us on ETS or a diehard, APC are just not as popular or cared for in 2018 as they were in 2004.
I still didn’t buy a ticket for the show here on November 1st and as much as I wanna go I doubt I’ll bother since good seats and the pit are gone and all that’s left is overpriced mediocre seats a mile away.
