I've heard quite a few complaints about both the CD and vinyl now. I specifically didn't buy them after the mp3 encoding thing because I didn't have much faith in them caring, and it looks like I was right. Considering the perfectionist rep Kevin gets, it's quite disappointing.

Did your record sleeve come wrapped in cellophane?
I’m wondering if it is U.S. only that is having problems.

so am I the only person who still hasn't received his record? I can't wait to find out how destroyed my version is going to be by the time it finally makes it to my doorstep.

Still haven't got mine either. Though living in Australia I'm not expecting to get it for at least a year or 10...

Went to see them last Friday. First time since I saw them twice in one week in 1992, the first gigs I ever went to.
    Fucking immense.
Better now than the loveless tour. My mate filmed a bit, so I uploaded to youtube.

Mine showed up in Vancouver, BC, Canada today, and it sounds great and is in mint condition. That said, there was no cellophane. I'm sorry to hear that you guys are having such shit luck. Of course we're all very happy to have new music, but the release of this thing was bungled from the very start, and it's disappointing but not shocking to hear that records are showing up in bad shape.

Mine was in good condition, it was just poorly packaged and no cellophane. The big deal I was making about it all was more that I was just surprised that this specific release arrived the way it did. And since it was a little pricey just wanted it to be in pristine condition. Also now I am seeing that other outlets are selling it. The price is even higher at some of these stores, but at least they are probably packaged and sealed. But I am happy with condition and purchase overall. Also, I am still really enjoying this album. I thought the “surprise/newness” would ware off, but still enjoying it.

Same here. My first thought upon opening the package was WTF. I got lucky though. The CD card sleeve had come out but it wasn't damaged, and the vinyl is mint. Planning on listening to it soon.

Got mine yesterday. The packaging was sparse, but the vinyl has some beautiful weight to it. Haven't had a chance to give it a proper spin yet (my wife couldn't stand 1 second of it haha).

A little anxious and afraid that my friend (who's buying the tickets) is able to get them. I just have a feeling they could sell fast. Hopefully I'm wrong

just a warning so people don't go unprepared. They reach loudness levels that are no joke. I'm going to see them at the FYF Fest, and I'm bringing shotgun range hearing protection this time. At the very least don't show up without earplugs.

Wonder if they'll do any more/if any US tour dates this year. Seriously considering that Grand Praire show..

I hope they do a full U.S. tour for next year. I want to see them once in my life and get my ears blown away.

Based on that interview w/ Pitchfork, any guesses on when that next album will come out? I thought it was a damn good interview and he did good job explaining why it took so long to make mbv.

Funny this thread just bumped, because five minutes ago I downloaded the discography...

Seems like everytime I read about a band that I'm in love with, this name comes up.

Where does the listening session start?

Loveless was my introduction to MBV though I would agree with NYRexall to start with Isn't Anything and then Loveless. Then get the EPs 1988-1991 compilation and then the new album. I would also suggest getting the Ecstasy and Wine compilation as it has some good pre-Isn't Anything stuff w/ Bilinda Butcher. Everything before that, well... that's for the hardcore fans.

I say next summer earliest, though early 2015 seems more likely. They still have to finish up this tour and Kevin never mentioned working on anything on the tour. I'm glad he did this interview. Based on the lack of mbv on their set lists and lack of press, I was worried that he wasn't satisfied with it.
