Picked it up today. Two listens in, my feeling is...meh. A great start and finish with an interminable midsection that mostly bleeds together. It feels short, but plodding and dejected. Not in a good way either.

I'll give it time. A lot of SOTU grew on me and I initially disliked a lot of it. But I felt the same about Delta Machine and that never really changed.

PTA remains the last great album to my ears. and I don't think anything's really stood out as memorable to me since Wrong, though Delta Machine's bonus disc had a few good ones on it.

I really, really miss catchy, danceable/head-bobbable DM.

The more I listen to it, the more I like it. Far from their best. It's good though.

Awesome, how much were tickets for those shows? San Diego is SUPER expensive I most likely will just get GA lawn if I go

Bare minimum, it's still better than Exciter!
The "when will it trickle down?" part doesn't remind you of peeing your pants a little too much?

Spirit is still growing on me. The tracks I like at the moment are Going Backwards (probably the best track on the album for me), You Move (can see that easily being played at DM club nights), Poorman, No More (This Is the Last Time) and Where's the Revolution. So Much Love is growing on me.

Winter tour will be in Europe, according to Fletch in an Irish music magazine. He confirmed a Dublin show and said the tour should be announced in June.

Warpaint is awesome. A very underrated band that is overlooked in favor something lame like HAIM.

I actually hope the tour with Depeche Mode will give Warpaint the exposure they need to take them to the next level, they are so much better than the shit that is currently out there and making big money like Moron5 (no that is not a typo) Adam Levine sucks ass!!!! Warpaint are freaking awesome and that should be the direction for new music. Not some whiny little ape that can't sing.

Totally agreeing with you guys. Saw Warpaint last month for the third time and hell, they really amped it up a notch. The set got a bit shorter, yet their sound evolved in the absolutely right direction and they turned into a tight and still fresh sounding band that is able to write radio hits as well as some treats. And hell, Jenny Lee's solo record is a glory to behold and I think a lot of it went into the new Warpaint record.

Apart from that I really want to grab a ticket for the shows again. Ravonettes and the Horrors are great openers for the European dates.

Watched and listened to DominatrixRMX Spirit:

I mostly like his remixes, but this time I was more interested in the video, especially Scum and Fail (yay, happy end! wait... fuck), thinking this can't be all original, what sources are used, or is this...? Who is this Zsolt Szabó in credits...? Perplexed. Sometimes my mind even wandered thinking e.g. about Black Mirror series or Bowie's Blackstar video. Too good to be just one person project no-one knows about, right?

I'm still not huge on Spirit and I wish it wasn't going to be highlighted so much in the setlists. This will likely be the first tour I see them on after many, many years of wanting to, and I'll take all the hits since they'll be first times for me, but there are definitely a lot of songs I'd rather they be playing. Maybe it'll change a bit, especially by the time they hit the States.

Also, the 'Heroes' cover is a bit lacklustre. Sigh.

At least the Irish show will be in the second leg, aka when they start mixing it up a bit.

With my lack of love towards 60% of the people onstage, you know what would be the best DM concert for me? If someone just started backing tracks, lights and projections, and that's it. ;-)

PS: Devotional... that was something completely different, of course. And Spirit is very good album, I don't doubt that for a second.
