I've got a ticket for the PPV show on Dec. 15! It only cost me, er, two months' rent. Hmmm, priorities...

I went to see it last night with Morad and a few of my other offline friends. Thought it was pretty good, not the best doc production-wise (did they really need all that extra sound design to get the point across?) but did a great job of putting the magic of their key early moments across. It essentially stops after 1981 (except for excerpts from Shine a Light and the two new songs that play under the credits). Very short shrift to 30 years of history.

In retrospect, I think that was actually a good call; no sense in trying to over-load fifty whole years into one feature-length film. I just wish people at large paid more attention to the 80s/90s/2000s of this band. Anybody see the doc on TV this week?

^ They were just talking about that stage set up on the radio when I was on lunch, cool to see a picture. Looks pretty bad ass. I would love to go see them but it's way too damn expensive.

They played it the following night, and "Satisfaction" too — great footage of both O2 concerts on YouTube. Brooklyn this Saturday & then two nights in Jersey! Woohoo!

I really want to see The Rolling Stones. I hope they tour somewhere around the midwest so I can spend an obscene amount of money to see them.

The Boss played "Tumbling Dice" with them last night. Yes, I drunkenly swung my phone around and sang along.

First show of 2013 happened last night in LA! Anybody go? I hear they busted out "Emotional Rescue" onstage for the first time ever.

I had so much fun at the New Jersey show last year, I bought a ticket for BOTH upcoming Toronto shows. Not a cheap prospect but it IS worth it if you love them as much as me.

    The Rolling Stones

They've never done Emotional Rescue live, really?

I hate that song but I'm surprised.

It was quite a big hit when it came out (#3 on Billboard) but was apparently the source of some friction between Keith and Mick at the time. I dunno, it's a classic as far as I'm concerned.

you weren't alive (or, you were a wee baby) when it was on the radio every half hour driving you fucking nuts. That and "She's So Cold."

I wonder if Mick sang falsetto live the other night.

At least we're not as old as Mick!!

I felt really old when I just looked at the video for Emotional Rescue, saw Ron Wood, and remembered when the Stones hired Ron Wood and how it seemed really disconcerting at the time, like "Wait, isn't that guy supposed to be with Rod Stewart?"

I'm very pleased that they're putting out the Hyde Park show from the end of the tour on multiple formats. Gonna snag that vinyl version for sure!

Well, it's obviously been stitched together from both nights, but the Hyde Park footage LOOKS absolutely incredible:

Did anybody catch it when they broadcast the (shortened) concert film on BBC TV last night?

Love the Stones to death! I recommend them to everyone that wants to learn about Blues.

I was hoping they would do a Sticky Fingers Deluxe edition or something with the outtake sessions of their prime time moments after the Some Girls deluxe was a success.

Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out is my favorite Stones album. You know, that live album that gets forgotten about by most people. That was the Stones in their prime, and nothing comes close to Richards and Taylor's back and forth barrage of solos in those songs.

I do like some of Mick Taylor's playing, but can't stand listening to it for more than a couple of songs in a row. He just doesn't know when to stop, sometimes.

That's why I wrote 16,000 words about the Stones' 1980s albums.
