    Mf doom

With the announcement today of the Jneiro Jarel/MF DOOM collaboration - JJ DOOM, I figured the man deserves his own thread.

I can't believe it's almost been 10 years since a proper solo record from him.

Always excited for new material by DOOM. Been a big fan of his since the early 00's when he had his killer streak of albums... Vaudeville Villain, Take Me To Your Leader, Madvillainy, Mm.. Food or Mouse And The Mask.

shameless self promotion I made some remixes out of acapellas of his a while ago by only sampling songs of the Fantastic 4 cartoon from the 60s... I called it the Tinhat Opera . It's very low-fi: https://krekpek.bandcamp.com/album/the-tinhat-opera

i put on Madvillain last night while i was making dinner and a) cried a little and b) wondered how anyone can think "kanye is a good rapper/producer" when Madvillain exists

Sorry for double posting, but I thought it would be cool to compile every Madvillain song released after Madvillainy since there's never been a follow up. Here you go (all songs are produced by Madlib and feature Doom rapping):

    Quasimoto - Closer (2005) (2nd Quasimoto album...)

Dangerdoom - Space Hoes (2005) (Madlib remixed this one for a 12")

Madvillain - Monkey Suite (2006) (exclusive song from a compilation called Chrome Children)

MF DOOM - Absolutely (2009) (from DOOM's last album Born Like This...)

Madvillain - Papermill (2010) (from an Adult Swim singles program...)

MF DOOM & Ghostface Killah - Victory Laps (2011) (Another Madlib remix...)

Bad Neighbor feat. MF DOOM - Knock, Knock (2015) (from a collaboration between MED, Blu & Madlib)

Madvillain - Avalanche (2016) (released together with a Madvillain action figure...)

I've been listening to a lot of Special Herbs instrumentals and making tribute art.

One Beer actually stems from the recording sessions for Madvillainy. It was put out on a 7" that came with the album when ordering via certain retailers. The label (Stones Throw) did this with almost every album they released during those years. See here: https://www.discogs.com/Madvillain-O...release/245937

It's remix is the vocal put over a Madlib instrumental Percee P originally rapped upon (Madlib produced his album in its entirety as well):

I've got that lunchbox, too. Some scumbag tried to sell his for 1,600$ on Discogs when the news about his death broke.

Superhero? Supervillain? Super WHAT? CZARFACE & MF DOOM's newest team-up record Super What? is, much like the Avengers' arch-enemy Thanos...inevitable (and all-powerful!). The icon MF DOOM unleashes his wizardry and wordplay throughout the record, while CZARFACE (bolstered by the legendary Wu-Tang Clan's Inspectah Deck and Esoteric) slash through each of the Czar-Keys' produced tracks as the team raises the bar on their previous LP, Czarface meets Metalface (2018).
Featuring golden-age superhero DMC (of RUN-DMC) and Hieroglyphics' leader Del the Funky Homosapien, with art by longtime CZARFACE co-creator Lamour Supreme, this album will bring all the thrills of a cosmic summer blockbuster. Recorded and slated for an early 2020 release, and paused while COVID raged, this collaboration of masked men is finally finding its way to you on vinyl.
