Goddamn, i know this song got overplayed in general, but it still fucking gives me goosebumps, especially the High Contrast version.

"i'm goin' in for the kill. i'm doing it for a thrill. i hope you'll understand and not let go of my hand."

I keep forgetting about this song until I happen upon it in my bookmarks. Finally gave the album a listen and, it's pretty good.

These guys have fueled a few extended backwoods drives recently as well.

    Doesn't it mean a gun? I don't know, I'm not very
    hip.

But while I got you, holy shit Drab Majesty is fucking incredible. Just checked it out. The whole vibe is very deadsy, specifically the song mansion world to me. 80's sound, esoteric vibes, baritone vocals. I love it. It's like, deadsy took it to the metal end of the spectrum and drab majesty goes more dark wave. But with the same message or energy.

You do know there is an elseq 2, 3, 4, and 5 right? For some reason Spotify only has part 1.

I highly suggest you check out http://autechre.bleepstores.com

Oh yeah. I'm sorry - I've been really inarticulate lately. I meant elseq 1 kind of warms me up for the rest of elseq; sort of forgot the last half of the phrase there! elseq 1-5 is very next level: 4-5 are my favorite. Thanks!

NTS2 indeed was incredible. NTS1 was indeed a nice lil warmup. Can't wait for the, uh, next two Autechre albums coming in the next two weeks (?!). What a world ...

fear before the march of flames - art damage
while not nearly as complex as their follow-up ("the always open mouth"), this album holds a special place in my heart. it's so fuckin' heavy and i love it. also a HUGE departure from their previous album ("odd how people shake"). i'm still regularly inspired by this album 14 years later.

I love tribulation, although I am a more recent fan of them, first heard of them on the Cannibal Corpse/Behemoth tour.
