loving this 'Dreams' EP from a 21 y/o Aussie named Oliver Tank. it's kind of like James Blake only less dubsteppy and with less vocal processing.

glad to hear someone else is familiar with them long before the 'tubthumping' days. some of the most blistering anarcho punk short of crass. 'liberation' is my favorite of the lot.

    now playing:

(french coldwave band. two singles and a cassette. male singer on the first, female on the second).

    and

ashrae fax... a band from the early 2000s who sound like a synthier version of the cocteau twins heaven or las vegas.

My favorite older album would be Shhh but I also enjoy much of English Rebel Songs 1381-1914.

Today, I have some Andrew WK going.

Stan Bush-"The Touch". CM Punk used this song for this John Laryngitis tribute. Man, I laughed my ass off.

I really dig it. Plus, call me crazy, but I actually like Lynch's voice. Something so raw and true about it, despite occasionally being submerged in vocoders and reverb.

Unfortunately, these guys just played their last show Sunday. Ive followed them around southeast Michigan for the better part of 8 months, and it was a sad moment to see them finally call it quits. They were the premiere post-hardcore band in the area, even getting booking out of state, and headlining local venues regularly. i guess i have a soft spot for my local metal scene.

The Second Layer and Five or Six tracks have been my favourites so far. I got turned on to Cherry Red through their Slowdive reissues (with awesome-packed bonus discs). They also put out a greatest hits comp (The Shining Breeze) that has a very agreeable tracklist.

...Resonating with me particularly of late.

That is the best thing to do I think. Funny you're listening to George Harrison, because so am I:
