Bought the limited edition with extra dvd from Play.com and got the standard version. Emailed the seller that apologized and refunded me for the price of the item so I'm now rocking to this awesome album. Life is good when sellers treat you right.

Beautiful, dark shit. The noise is subdued and gets under your skin.

I really can't believe how well this has held up for me over the past year and some months. Part of me was almost expecting my feelings for it to drop off after a while, thinking that a lot of my initial reactions were due to hype and the fact that it was the first real NIN album to come out since I was a fan, and led to my first tour, etc., but nope! I still get chills at all the right points, In Two still makes the "I like this" center of brain light up, Black Noise still leaves me in awe, Satellite is still one of the only songs that makes me want to dance around like an idiot, All Time Low still makes me think of some weird alternate universe Into the Void, Copy of a is still as anthemic as ever.

It's weird to me though; at the Tension show I saw last year, anyone I talked to said how much they loved it. At the amphitheatre shows this year, all of the older fans I spoke to mentioned being glad that there was less of it in the sets and said they weren't as into it. Maybe it's the different crowds/markets those tours appealed to, but it's definitely a strange thing to notice. I for one still adore it, and the fans I know in real life do as well. I've actually made a few people who previously wouldn't give NIN time of day into fans with it, and the friend I took to their first show in Tampa this year told me how jealous they were that I got to see Copy of a the night prior. This has definitely become the intro album I use for people wanting to get into NIN.

The dude from Crystal Castles sang lead in this band called Kill Cheerleader before he started CC. They just did one album. Its got punk/trash/hair metal influences, sounds kind of like Guns and Roses, and its just good dumb fun.

Mark Bell's death recently reminded me how great LFO was. Sounds jawdropping at loud volumes still. Power Rangers mashup is awesome too.

The actual version. The first one, anyway. Haven't gotten to listen to the second album. I tend to wait for the legitimate vinyl rips before downloading "leaks," but the promo thing really was a damn brilliant maneuver they pulled. I usually have a hard time getting into their stuff (the ambience always feels like padding to me), but the first album fucking rips. Haven't heard the second yet, but they've earned my money for sure.

Yup, still stuck on Old Man Gloom. I can't stop fucking listening to these. Both releases together are far and away my favorite things released this year, and that's saying a lot. I need to start a legitimate metal thread.

I probably shouldn't, but I can't help but enjoy this album.

It's so good. Feel no shame. Once I get home home here directly it's going on.
