I've worked for him before. He can play every instrument on that stage and play it well. In that regard, I do have some respect for him.

But as a human being, I think he's shit. I have very good friends in Michigan, so for their sake I hope to god he doesn't get elected.

Nugent is a Texan, now (his primary residence), he's been in the Waco area for a while. He actually grew up in the Chicago area.

He confirmed via his Facebook page he is indeed running for the U.S. Senate.

If Trump can win MI, anything goes.
Can we change the title bracket to (are you fucking shitting me? fuck no.)

I don't feel like this story is over though. Like this will end up being like the Black Mirror episode "The Waldo Moment", with Kid Rock as the puppet of Michigan's conservative party.

I think Kid Rock was just testing the waters but after seeing the polling (which put him losing handedly) and after last Tuesday's election results, it is highly unlikely he will run.

On a side note, I'm rather enjoying his new album. He's a tool, but he knows how to make irrelevant, fun rock/country. I still say Devil Without a Cause is one of the best rock albums of the late 90's.

He previously said he's not really running, that it was a publicity stunt:

He's marginally talented. He's an okay singer and adequate on lots of instruments, but an awful songwriter. I will say that his music was a bit of a departure from the Korns and Limp Bizkits of the world, much more a foot in classic hard rock and even country so he was tolerable on that level.

I've heard some good things about him, like his stance on Ticketmaster and such. But I also heard one story recently, from a Guitar World writer that he bitched to the magazine after they changed a cover story featuring him, because George Harrison died. That kind of ups my "fuck this guy" quota a bit.

He just represents all the WRONG things about Detroit.

In fact, he doesn't represent Detroit, at all; he represents the racist redneck assholes outside of Detroit.

I get pissed every time I see him saying he represents Detroit. NO.YOU.DON'T, you phony asshole.

Nice cop-out. If he were up five points in the polls, he would be running.
